It took Haye FIVE months to get down to Cruiser. No wonder he says it'll be his last fight at 200 whatever the result

 

A big talking point over recent weeks has been the risk that Haye would be weight drained - he looked in good condition and mst certainly not weight drained. An active Haye will KO Mormeck

 

That means he really wanted this fight and was prepared to plan and execute a weight loss program scientifically. I hope it pays off for him

What about Haye's chin? He has already been KO'd . We know Mormeck can take a punch.

I dont think either worries much about defense. This could be a shoot out, and I think the more durable fighter will have the edge.

 

his KO at the hands of thompson was a stamina issue rather than a chin issue. he was a rookie who punched himself out early on against an extremely experienced veteran in thompson and paid the price.

his stamina has not been an issue really since, although the effect of going up to HW and back down again could be shown tomorrow.

 

I expect a lot from this fight, hope they deliver.

Too bad he doesn't have the size/chin to really do something at HW, he's marketable to the casual fan and to women, obviously. He should be able to get past that joke Mormeck though.

 

I agree - he could afford to put on a few pounds and the stomach etc definition would still be showing. Hopefully it won't affect him too much.

Why is mormeck a joke?

Also Haye has never filled out as a heavyweight, he had one fight and he weighed 217 where he clearly has heavyweight power.
Even if it did look better than it was due to the quality of opponent.
If he fills out more and sits around a comfortable 6'3" 230lbs ripped he wont be too small.

His chin will improve if he is not so drained also, not that i think it is particularly bad atm if not great.
