    From BBN:

David Haye v Monte Barrett was the third most watched fight in Setanta Sports history.

The peak individual audience for Saturday's fight was 343,000, meaning only Joe Calzaghe v Bernard Hopkins and Joe Calzaghe v Roy Jones Jr. have delivered bigger audiences for boxing matches on Setanta.

Leonard Ryan, Setanta's joint Chief Executive, said: “We're extremely pleased with the audience figures from Saturday and it proves there is considerable appeal for David Haye out there. The fact this non-title fight surpassed the audience we received for his world cruiserweight unification title fight against Enzo Maccarinelli in March shows the level of interest in following Haye's quest to become heavyweight champion of the world. As the exclusive rights holder to his next three fights, we fully expect audience figures to continue to increase ahead of a potential world heavyweight title fight in 2009.”

In May 2008, Setanta Sports signed an exclusive broadcast deal with Hayemaker Productions to screen four David Haye fights exclusively live in the UK and Ireland. The Monte Barrett fight on Saturday was the first of the four-fight deal, which runs to 31 December, 2009. The deal will potentially see the explosive Londoner take on one or both of the Klitschko brothers for the world heavyweight championship next year.

Good news - the card was better for the Macca show, with Mitchell vs Johanneson, but this one has been in the melting pot for some time.

I was actually excited before the bell , I can't for the life of me remember the last time that happened for a heavy weight fight !

If you build it , they will come !

Its down to the Bunce factor. He takes no **** from anyone and will ask questions that fans want asked. No ass kissing as some other pundits do.

Its because many people suscribed for the Calzaghe - Jones fight, and ended up watching this fight aswell. Well thats what i think, but its good to see boxing getting good recognition

I think Haye can take a leaf outta Hattons book and make the O2 'His arena' like Ricky did with the MEN, im sure if he keeps winning in good style his London fanbase will grow and he will become a house hold name across the UK thereafter.

He should fight more regularly aswel, twice a year a a up n coming name isnt enough. 3 fights atleast I reckon.

Steve Bunce may well ask good questions, but he has been guilty off ass kissing from time to time.

The guy is a one-off and I've never found his interviewing style to be brown-nosed. Whose ass did he kiss and when?

I do, of course, realise that this post earns me a very brown nose. But as I've taken a deep breath, I'd even go so far as to say that if we lost him from our screens we'd lose a prized asset (I'll stop at suggesting a national treasure!). I'm now in so deep I'm not sure my canary will survive...

Do you think David and Adam could maybe arrange a make over?
