McGuigan is Mr. Hard to please when it comes to Haye but yet he was firmly entrenched up Amir Khan's backside on ITV.

What more could have Haye done? Do an old time waltz and fight with one hand? It goes without saying that Haye can get knocked out, any heavyweight can. Lennox Lewis got sparked twice.

Haye certainly has power at heavyweight.
Barret has great heart for getting up again and again.
    Vitali sounds exactly like Borat!!

was the knock down a slip or a legitamate knock down, i wonder if barret had not hit him when he was down, would haye of been given a count?

either way a great performance from Haye. he didn;t look "faster" to me but still very very very quick for a heavy. one thing that worries me is how strong he is, barret seemed stronger in the clinches, and haye looked tired to me. wlad and vitali can simply jab and hold for 8 rounds and tire haye, and then stop him

It seemed to me that Vitali really fancies the fight.

I dont blame him! It'll make big money and with his ability and chin he knows he could knock Haye out.

I think/hope he should go for Wlad first.

I always notice how Haye treats Vitali with way more respect than he does Wladimir. Haye knows Vitali is a different kettle of fish.

I agree, he has a chance against Wlad but I can't see him beating Vitali.

McGuigan seemed pretty negative, I don't think he's a believer, which is strange for a guy that could hardly see past Amir Khan's balls to analyze his fights correctly and he had the exact same problems.

Neither am I in truth, not against the Klitschko's. There is an outside chance against Wlad, Vitali absolutely not he WILL be KTFO.

I would agree with that, I think Vitali's solid chin and busy workrate would be big problems for Haye. Unless he could inflict some cuts or surprise the hell out of everyone by knocking Vitali down, it's a tough match up.

Wlad, on the other hand, can definitely put the shots together to put Haye on dream street but you'd think would be more questionable over hard counter shots and knock downs. Better chance there I think.

Very good win last night for the division in general. Love him or hate him a character like Haye is badly needed.

And for the record, I want him to become champ! :D

The funniest part of the evening for me, apart from Barretts ring dive of course, was the way that Vidalia Klit called Haye out to his face and then 15 minutes later shamelessly ducked him. The ringside interview with Haye and Klit was pretty good, with the right amount of respect coming from Haye. Klit said that summer next year either he or his brother would like to take on Haye in a big stadium fight in the UK, once they have their mandatorys out of the way. 15 minutes later when being interviewed by Buncey and McG, and more importantly, after seeing the replays of Haye demolish Barrett, Vidalia started bumbling on about fighting Lewis before Haye....I thought Buncey and McG were going to **** themselves laughing.

 I noticed that too. He also said that Haye should have one or two more fights at HW to get used to it.

With Vitali's glass body I wouldn't be surprised if the fight never happens, he's one bad training injury away from retirement.

I did have a little laugh at the presenter, swept up in euphoria, wondering if Lewis had ever done anything like that on his way up (to a title shot). Barry and Bunce respectfully just left that stupidity alone.

I have to admit my heart really was in my mouth as I watched. As good an offensive display as it was there still seems to be a big question mark about his defence. Hopefully it was just that Monte is one of the fastest HW's out there and he won't encounter that in another fight. So glad his KO power has been validated against a big boy. I also agree that he should fight another top 10 guy before one of the Klitschko's cos I'm positive he will be even more impressive.

I was suprised that there was no questioning of what happened when Haye went to the canvass - it looked to me that he was knocked down by a short shot before getting clobbered on the way down. To be knocked down by someone who had already been over 4 times is a bit of a worry but that's always been the fun of watching Haye.

Anybody go last night? The atmosphere sounded good but how many empty seats were there?

I went to the last fight v Mac at 02 but after queuing for 2 hours to get a taxi out of there a bit reluctant to go again.

I was wondering about this. I think he got caught whilst stumbling off balance, but the punch he took whilst on the floor was a big one. I wondered if he was hurt when went to one knee by the ropes, but think he was gassing a bit to be honest, and was taking a breather.
