Haye punished John Ruiz for nine painful rounds until ruiz corner threw in the towel at 2.01 after five knockdowns. ruiz was nothing more but a good punching bag for haye, eating almost every punch have threw. haye needs another big guy (how about Eddie Chambers or Kevin Johnson-just to compare how long it will take for him ),then all is set for the klitschkos
Haye put on a good performance I admit, but he couldn't get the KO over a 38 year old out of shape Ruiz. To be honest I think a prime Ruiz could beat a prime Haye.
Haye was pretty special tonight, i think he could have got him out of there a lot earlier, he was carrying Ruiz from round 4, but i dont think he wanted to commit himself too much and mabey punch himself out as Ruiz has shown to be very durable, All in all though Haye put on a masterclass, outboxed, outpunched and outsped Ruiz beating him to the punch and forcing the innevitable stoppage. Great fight.
How do you figure? A prime Ruiz got trashed by a LHW Roy Jones Jr. Haye is not as good as Jones, but he has a similar style, is bigger, and hits harder. No version of Ruiz beats Haye. A prime Ruiz probably goes the distance though.
The ko would have come but most likely at the cost of ruiz's health. ruiz corner did the right thing imo
well maybe not necessarily beat him but it would be a close decision. My honest opinion. This was a 38 year old Ruiz here, if Ruiz could fight like he did tonight but was in his prime I think he could squeak by a decision.
hey Haye is nothing special, everybody knows if he steps up to fight Vitali or whatever he'll lose. I hate both the Klit Bros. but it's just the honest truth, Haye hasn't beat anyone except for a 38 year old Ruiz.
The man is 28 and has 5 world titles in two weight divisions, all in 25 fights. To say he hasnt done this or that is ridiculous, to do what he has done in 25 fights is almost unheard of
Good performance by Haye. Its actually refreshing to see a good Heavyweight fight. After all the glamour division hasn't been all that glamorous in recent times. I got the impression that Haye was carrying him for a few rounds hoping he'd soften him up before he lands another big right hand but one thing is for certain; Ruiz came to win. I'd like to see how David fares against Wladimir or Vitaly.....
