Haye beating Wlad or Froch beating Ward..

Bookies have Haye at 11/8 to beat Wlad whereas Froch is 6/4 (or 12/8 ) to beat Ward.. making a win for Froch slightly less likely according to the betting odds. 1-0 Froch.

Wlad has been beaten before and knocked down 11 times in his career. Is it really that much of an upset if a big puncher like Haye manages to do the same? Whereas Ward is unbeaten as a pro and apparently hasn't lost as an amateur since he was a kid either. 2-0 Froch.

Size
Wlad is way, way bigger than David Haye. Froch and Ward are pretty similar size wise. Obviously if Haye can beat Wlad this is some achievement in terms of overcoming a height and weight disadvantage. 2-1 Froch.

Current Status + Legacy of Opponent
Wlad is the number 1 heavyweight and has been dominant for the last 4 years. People have labelled his fights as boring, but truth be told, he's barely lost a round in his spell of dominance. People currently rate Ward as the #1 SMW but questions still need to be answered. If Froch beats him and Ward then disappears.. people will only remember Andre Ward as an afterthought. 2-2.

Current Status + Legacy of Haye/Froch
People are sceptical of Haye's recent fights at heavyweight but if he beats Wlad, he will have pretty much done everything needed. Vitali will still be a question but let's not go into that here. Froch has already had an incredible run of fights and if he was to beat Ward to finish it off.. wow. Incredible achievement and I think should go down as bigger than Haye winning one fight. 3-2 Froch.

My personal picks
Haye has more chance against Wlad than Froch has against Ward.. but it's close. My personal opinion is that Wlad takes a wide-ish decision win against Haye (117-111) while Ward gets the better of a closer decision (116-113 kinda thing) 4-2 Froch.

 

Interesting breakdown FrochFan7. I cant see Haye/Wlad goin 12rounds unless Haye dances around like the Valuev fight but I cant see that happening. Frochs only hope to beat Ward is to go to war with him and have a toe to toe fight.

 

In terms of which would be remembered as the greatest achievement I would say Haye beating Wlad mostly due to the publicity.

Personally for me, although Haye winning would be quite an achievement it's Froch who has the tougher task on his hands. If he wins it would be extraordinary.

 

Ward is a very weak individual, physically compared to Carl Froch.

Froch vs Ward, won't even come down to "Boxing Skills".

Froch will walk forward, throwing straight hard punches, and bullying Andre Ward.

Over and Over again...! Until Andre Ward quits.

Hayes task is far more difficult and would rank as one of the best Brit wins. Ward is really good, but still nowhere near as proven as wlad is at HW. Ward only fights in Oakland and the only guy who he has beaten which would consider as a top win is Kessler.

And even bhop said what has Kessler really done or achieved. His famous for losing to calzaghe in their unification bout.

Wlad is considered by many as one of the best HW of all time. He's hardly lost any rounds since his last loss. Has tremendous power and can box.

Froch ward is more 50-50. It depends who performs on the night. Maybe ward is considered favourite by most but he didn't look that spectacular against bika or green. Not known for his power but has good skill and speed.

For me Hayes accomplishment of beating wlad will rank much higher than beating so far untested ward. Ones proven and one guy is still making his name.

 

Froch beating Ward.

Why? Because Haye is far less limited than Froch. He has much more athletic talent and explosive speed than Froch, very good balance and much better feet and maneuvering. I see Haye doing a number on big old Klit, unless he makes significant mistakes to get caught with shots.

Froch has to rely heavily on tactics, chin and awkwardness to live with Ward, and/or Ward making mistakes. In my opinion.

 

You are looking at this the wrong way though. It's not about comparing Ward to Wlad. It's about comparing the differences in ability between Froch and Ward, and the difference between Haye and Wlad.

 

Well Kessler has a win over Froch for starters..

Secondly nobody I know considers Wlad one of the best heavyweights of all time.

I think in general though people if they both win, Haye will get more recognition unfortunately but this won't be anything to do with boxing or the actual achievement of beating Wlad. It's just the way it is unfortunately.

 

Froch over Ward for sure in my mind.

 

And also, all it takes is one punch really at heavy to turn the tide of the fight. If Haye finds Wlad's chin he knows he's halfway there.

Froch-Ward is a whole different ballgame.
