For anyone on here who actually still buys PPV's?

I'm done with Matchroom in all honesty. Total wa*kers who are just fleecing the public dry with complete mismatches like this.

I'm hoping for a double KO. Used to like both men, and as it's been mentioned, they've got enough great fights around them in their OWN divisions that this doesn't need to happen.

We're one of the only countries where Boxing is MASSIVE nowadays, and it's a shame that freak shows like this happen when REAL fights could happen. This will be like a WWE/bad villain at the pantomime event.

Between this, Joshua and Eric whoever being PAY PER VIEW, I genuinely hope Wazza comes back and reclaims his No.1 spot. This is a joke now.

I find it funny that these kind of threads pop up every time PPV is announced. No matter what you think, this fight is gonna be a success. The build up will be classic and fans will lap it up.

Is it a PPV fight? Not really but do I blame matchroom and sky going down that route. Of course not.

Both camps are a business and the aim is to make money and not lose it. Why leave money on the table when their is a clear demand for this fight.

Eddie Hearn has made no secret that he wants the Matchroom brand appeal to casuals and this is a very, very casual friendly PPV. It will sell huge but tbh after thinking about this fight I'd bet someone will pull out.

Blame the casual fans for these PPVs.

Stop being negative. Cracking fight. Team it up with a stacked card and I think Matchroom should double up their prices.

Sky have told Hearn he needs to produce 5 ppvs a year in their new deal. Haye v Bellew I'll be the first and Aj will fight 3x next year, means another one or 2 will be thrown in. Get used to it or stop buying it.

    Question:
If it was Warren who had Sky deal, do you honestly believe it would be any different or better?

Remember who had Sky deal 1st and F'd it all up before you answer!

I don't think this is a pro-Frank Warren thread, a lot of posters here are anti promoters all together. You have to admit though that Sky have really abused the 'Pay-Per-View' format over the last 5 years or so. Joshua vs Martin, Breazele and Molina? Bellew vs Cleverly 2? Brook vs Gavin? You avert your eyes looking back on these travesties, surely?

Not really a competitive fight , and I won't be paying for it as I have other means of watching it, but I can think of far worse things to spend £15 on than watching Bellew get smashed to pieces.

Haye vs Bellew is a mega fight, compared to some of those fights.

I wonder what the undercard will be like atleast AJ's last couple of PPV's have had Murray vs Groves and Whyte vs Chisora, which have added value, even CEJ vs Doran was entertaining.

The fans that post on forums and that actually follow the sport are less than 1 percent of Hearns target market. We mean nothing.

    Correct mate.

The main problem with the Hearn strategy is that the public will be fleeced too many times and casual boxing fans will be lost forever to UFC etc.

Agree with lots here. Bellew looked like he could be entering the most interesting part of his career. Manages to win a strap fighting a few B class cruisers, and now well positioned to try himself against the best in the division. Instead we get this charade.

In the same situation I'm sure Warren would have made the same fight. But he isn't in that situation. His situation is to offer competition, an alternative.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope he does gain some clout and manages to take Matchroom down a peg or two. I still don't mind Hearn but I don't think it's healthy for him to have so much his own way.

Or worse, boxing in the UK becomes appealing only to casual fans...
