Haha and when George Groves fights for a world title again it will be on Sky or BT/Boxnation.

Terrestrial TV won't even pay the going rate to show the 2 weight champion in Carl Frampton when Sky are not even there competition. That's the reality.

Do post again when terrestrial TV show a meaningful fight.

 

That wasn't that bad, there was genuine interest in that fight, did well at the gate and got them from memory to around 250k. Yeah it was one sided but it wasn't a farce or a total mismatch like just about all the AJ PPVs

 

its not so much the number of PPVs, it's the quality of them. Frampton-Quigg and GGG-Brook were justifiable (even if the former turned out to be an awful fight and a garbage card mostly), but the AJ ones are god awful, could forgive him if he put those on regular sky it's forgivable but not charging the best part of £20, esp when regular sky had fights like crolla-linares and kovalev-Ward.

Then again I don't think this is 'all' eddie and matchrooms fault, sky going all in on the PL has led to loads of cutbacks elsewhere so they're probably the most to blame for going stupidly high for the declining PL audiences (£11m for hull v Middlesbrough on Monday night by the way)

 

Blimey - the odds on this PPV card next week indicate a canfest.

Matchroom have definitely sunk to a new low with this pile of stonkers.

Fair enough but I don't mind paying the fighters. You can obviously choose what to spend your money.

I paid into a gig last night and a football match this afternoon. That's how the world works.

 

I do grudge AJ being paid £ms for fighting that pudding last night and will not contribute towards it.

That is why I simply go to a bar to watch it.

 

Who do you think pays for it in a bar?

Saying that there are probably a few guys on this site who would sit in the pub for four hours with a can of coke they brought from home.

 

Most of us go out on Saturdays anyway mate and drink prices are sunk costs for most of us each week.
