You've always got something to lose. Extremely dangerous fight for Bellew this. Every hard knockout a boxer takes is a roll of the dice as to what long term effects it will cause. It's flippant to just say that even if he sustains a brutal knockout that he doesn't have anything to lose. Of course he does. It could affect his quality of life and also be potentially career ending.
You are absolutely correct, but have taken my post a little out of context. I don't think Bellew or Coldwell will allow Bellew to be brutally KO'd, and my point was more about image and reputation.
I think that this is over within three for Haye just because of the size difference- it's really hard to make a case for Bellew. His only chance is if Haye hasn't trained for the later rounds and he gasses. Unlikely but possible.
The reality is that if Bellew was Eastern European and called Belleraus or something like that and was just a cruiseweight wc then most of the posts on here would be saying what the F is Haye doing conning the public bla bla bla and some would question the promoter etc etc.... but because it's Bellew the public are being blinkered with this trash.
Yeah, you mean like if his name was Arnold Gjergjaj or Mark De Mori? The above names were awful mismatches which conned the public and his fans. Bellew is better than them two, this is a step up from them so why are people moaning about this being a mismatch when they were happy with who he fought last year?
This is all true, but David Haye was dropped by super-middleweight Lolenga Mock, gassed badly and stopped in 5 by an over-the-hill 40-year-old cruiser Carl Thompson, and dropped by cruiserweight Jean Mormeck.
This was all a long time ago. Don't forget what eventually happened in the Mormeck fight, and if you rewatch the Thompson fight Haye just didn't pace himself at all - he thought he had the Cat at his mercy and let inexperience get the better of him.
Honestly this post is actually signature worthy. It's like you've proven all my points about you in a single post. Great stuff, keep contributing with these gems.
