    @GazOC

Its not fabricated. Haye talked about stomping on heads. He tried to justified hitting a person with a bottle in his hand.

The perception of what self defence is changes from person to person. I was brought up not to hit people unless inside the ropes. The first thing anyone is taught in self defence is to identify danger and to avoid it. Haye and Chisora was all about not losing face. It was macho bull**** from both parties.

Nobody can say if Chisora was going to throw a slap. It was all WWF banter until Haye got the bottle out.

    1) Chisora fronted Haye. Its down to him the fracas started. Whats Haye supposed to do, hope Chisora was just indulging in WWF banter and wait to get hit?

    2) Getting clipped by a bloke with a bottle in his hand is not the same as being "glassed".

Haye didn't come out of the situation covered in glory but the way you are wording your posts makes it clear you are being far from fair minded about what went on.

    Haye is a proper dickhead.

I'm going to enjoy seeing him getting beaten round after round by Del Boy.

    The one with Kay Burley?

Saying you see no reason to apologise is not the same as saying he's proud of it, or would encourage people to do it.

That doesn't excuse Haye's behaviour, but I'd say when a psychopath like Chisora comes at you and then his trainer tries to follow it up, the blame doesn't really fall on Haye.

Soon as he hit Chisora, Del-Boy's entourage jumped on Haye. Should he have allowed himself to take a kicking so you could be a smug ***** and say "He should have defended himself"?

Then you'll wake up and see Dereck taking a career-ending beating and racking up his fourth loss in a row.

    I could be arguing:

    1. Haye should not have even been in the presser.

    2. Haye should not have hi-jacked the presser by calling Vitali out.

    3. Haye/Booth should not have been there calling Bonte a liar.

    4. From what I know raising your hand with a bottle in your hand is taken as a very serious offence and would justify a serious warning or a day in court.

    5. Hitting someone with a tripod is not self defence.

I'll say it again this was not a self defence situation. It was no different to two young lads not wanting to stand down in a bar fight because there are a few good looking women looking on. The row was all about ego and beating their chest as to who is the bigger alpha dog.

Nothing personal here I just have a totally different perception of what happened than yourself. The incident was the final straw for me. I now can't stand Haye and I can't say that about too many fighters.

You are the biggest ****ing mug on this forum then, is this the advice you are going to give your kids..? You ****ing fool....you ****ing idiot.

I am not condoning mindless violence on the streets, but David Haye had valid reasons to hit Derek Chisora. Chisora has a history of violent antics out of the ring, weather that be hitting women, getting into scuffles with other boxers, hitting police officers...........When somebody of Derek Chisora's history states that he is going to hit you, and then is walking towards you in a hostile manner.

You don't wait to be a victim, you try to end that **** right there. You get your shots off, and then you bounce like a G.

David Haye recognised the threat, got his shots off, took out Chisora and some of his entourage........and then he bounced like a G.

I like Derek Chisora and David Haye, and i hope Derek Chisora fronts David Price in the near future.

David Haye was part of the media, he had a media pass you ****ing idiot. He was working for boxnation, and he had a right to be at the press conference just like all the other members of the press.

    1) Other fighters are often at pressers esp. if a fight is in the works. Its common practice.

    2) Perhaps, but not really the end of the world.

    3) Irrevent to the Haye-Chisora scuffle and at best already covered in points 1 and 2?;)

    4) Its still not "glassing" though, eh? So why say it is?

    5) True but by that point it was a bit of a free for all. **** happens in those situations.

I honestly can't see how anyone can blame Haye for what went on that night. Chisora had spent the weekend being a pain in the arse with the slap and the water spitting and then started on Haye.

Spurious - he had a press credential and had every right to be there since he was trying to secure a fight with Vitali. He didn't even speak until Bernd Boente made reference to him. Stupid argument.

Then I suggest you watch a different sport. Fighters call other fighters out at press conferences. It's just how it is.

Why not? And what has that to do with Chisora being a thug?

A serious offence that justifies a serious warning? Something of an oxymoron there. Haye didn't threaten Chisora, he just hit him. The bottle didn't even hit Chisora. If it had, I think Haye would have been arrested and Chisora would be getting plastic surgery.

No, that's true. But in fairness there were five or six people in that group, including Chisora. There was only Haye and Booth.

Rubbish. Chisora had committed assault twice already that weekend, not to mention his other infractions in the past. Haye had good reason to feel he would be attacked.

NOTHING would have happened if Chisora hadn't walked up to Haye, full of aggression. That's the bottom line. It was totally different to two blokes trying to impress the birds. It was one bloke stopping a maniac from attacking him.

Your perception is in direct contradiction with established and documented facts. It's wrong, bluntly put. You don't like Haye, but that doesn't mean he should take the responsibility for a situation Chisora caused.

    Whats with the insults?

Why was Booth there? Thereal intention was to try to get a fight going with Vitali which iwa the money fight. They didn't expect Chisora to be the next cash cow.

I also haven't been in a fight since the playground scuffles of school days.

Since the age of a teenager I can see a fight coming from across a bar and avoid it.

I have a few mates who have multiple amateur national titles between them and since I was a teenager in the gym I was always very impressed how they conducted themselves on the street and how they would never get in a fight. Its a boxing thing not wanting to fight on the street. Boxing is about living clean with discipline to better yourself.
