After a night reflection I was actually really impressed by Haye's performance. Against an awkward-as-**** opponent, Haye chose exactly the right tatics. This was essentially a feather-weight against a heavyweight and Haye did he job well. For someone who's defence is often criticized, Haye dodged and weaved excellently last night and his foot movement at time was wonderful to watch. I know it wasn't the most exciting performance (for the casual fan) but it has me convinced that Haye will hold the belt for a while and will spark Ruiz in his next fight.
Haye showed sublime skills for a heavyweight. It was a fantastic display of speed power and skill. Shame he couldn't keep it up and put a real clinic on but your right fantastic display of the artform we call boxing. Talksport need to read this forum because the guy who thinks Valuev won and feels cheated out of £15 is a mug. How can anyone expect Haye to trade with that giant..some people really shouldn't bother.
shocked that so many people are happy with his performance. i thought he won, i'm glad he won but his performance wasn't what i expected. he didn't let his hands go and even with a broken right hand he never jabbed enough or even hooked to the body. his stamina looked worse than it has been since the thompson fight.
:huh We didn't even see his stamina tested, so how can you come to this assumption? I thought it was a very good performance, although he should have threw more shots at him.
he did NOTHING and was in the corner breathing in and out quite hard with his mouth open. his hands got very low and ended up by his side. he was walking around and quickly became unable to stay in stance. i was watching it with 7 people and all of us thought after 3 or 4 rounds he looked tired. it was as slow as a fight can physically be, he shouldn't have even broke a sweat. plus if his stamina wasn't poor then why wasn't he at least jabbing and hooking more. two cards at 8-4 is generous. the fight was too close and it was in germany. his punch output was terrible. i want to see compubox.
'boxed beautifully'...:huh are you kidding me:huh He did the job. He ran and made Valuev play chase. Far from boxing beautifully
Haye ran like a coward. Track & field it was. Haye backed out of a fight with Vlad, then backed out of a fight with Vitali. Haye can run, but he can't hide from Vitali, that's why he is a proven coward. Will Haye fight Christy Martin next? He is already claiming a hand injury to put off his fight with Ruiz, which is a joke.
I see you still give Haye no credit:rofl. I love it, I really do:yep. What about your boy Valuev knocking out Haye then? As for 'backing out', remember Vitali taking the Gomez fight rather than fight Haye when the contract was signed? Vitali and his goons even said that a fight with Haye was 'bigger than the WBC title': Last paragraph: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7782894.stm Fourth paragraph: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=18189&more=1 Now, respectfully, **** right off you racist ****:good.
haye ran like a coward.. you dont know what you are talking about mate. If you have watched any of his previous fights, you will know thats not his style at all. He is usually all action, he had to do it in this fight and box smart to win. How many gift decisions has valuev got before? isnt it about time it went against him for once? not that im saying haye got a gift, but out of one of the most boring fights i have ever seen, haye landed the better punches.
