David Haye should have one or two fights at heavyweight against decent fighters. "And he should win in devastating fashion" This will hype it up even more...
The difference is Thompson earned his shot & he's waited almost a year. Povetkin won a tournament for his opportunity, he should be next. Chagaev or Valuev will have the WBA belt and unification is much more important than David "What The" Haye.
Fast forward to Hayes first (well second actually) heavyweight fight. He's fighting bum of the month Jeremy "shattered glass" Williams. As the bell rings to start round one, the lights go off. Everyone is confused. The lights come back on and Williams is gone and Vitali Klitschko is standing directly behind Haye. The crowd goes bezerk and Haye doesn't know what's going on. He turns back to his corner to ask where Williams is and he gets sucker punched by Vitali. Vitali then proceeds to cut the dreadlocks off Hayes heads with some scissors that Larry Merchant throws into the ring. Wladimir then enters the ring and together he and Vitali stand and laugh over Haye while throwing his dreadlocks into the audience. Wladimir then takes the mic from Larry and tells Mr. Haye that he was warned that he wasn't ready for the heavyweight division. Wlad and Vitali then flip off the slowly waking Haye and run to the dressing rooms. Again, to be continued...
Cruiser is a painfully weak division, unifying that doesn't say an awful amount. The Heavies aren't at there best at the moment but the fact that there are no Americans of note in there means the fighters are far more devalued then there true worth, IMO. A lot of them may be boring to watch but they are decent fighters, just because they are not American doesnt mean they are rubbish.
agreed 100%. i have a similar opinion. haye deserves credit for what he's done but when you break it down, he's beaten 2 top 10 cws and "cleaned out the divsion". if that's the case, that's a pretty weak division. and if BJ flores is the best fighter in the division now as some claim, that's a very bad sign. wlad has beaten 5 top 10 HEAVYWEIGHTS in his last 6. now, im no genius but it seems like wlad has the better body of work but gets very little credit
CW is better than HW, by a long way. CW is actually quite deep in comparison. Haye, Bell, Mormeck, Adamek, Cunningham, Flores (good fighter) Wilson. Its not that bad a division.
It will be a great fight when it happens. But Wlad needs to keep his titles...he's the first unified champ in a long time. I get the feeling, however, that after the Thompson fight, Povetkin will want to wait another fight before challenging Klitschko (Povetkin NEEDS to fight a puncher before taking such a huge leap up in class). This would be a good time for Klitschko-Haye. I actually think Haye could stand half a chance against Wlad. But likely he'll lose this one.
Haye should get a good win or two at heavy and make himself a mandatory contender, work himself into the shot. He seems quite obsessed with Klitschko, bless him. Wlad has other commitments for this year. Povetkin is not a bum. Haye should be looking to rematch Odlanier Solis who beat him in the amateurs! Wlad and Haye will hopefully happen next year, but all in good time.
Fast forward again to Wlads fight with Thompson. The bell is about to ring and the lights go off just like in the Haye fight. When the lights come back on, Thompson is replaced with Haye and Lennox Lewis. Lennox has the gloves on and is wearing Union Jack Shorts. Wlad freaks and starts yelling "no fight" repeatedly. Haye is smiling standing next to Lennox. Then Vitali jumps in the ring and tells Lennox if he wants to fight, to fight him. This is the rematch everyone has been waiting. Lennox tells Haye to get out of the ring, but as Haye turns to exit, Lennox suddenly hits Haye on the back of the head. Vitali, Wlad and Lennox all proceed to beat the heck out of Haye all over the ring. They then deposit him in the middle of the ring and Vitali and Lennox shake hands in laughter. Wladimir produces a giant $1 million dollar check, and the keys to a new land rover and gives them to Lennox. Larry Merchant climbs in the ring and tells the still unconscious Haye, that in the heavyweight division "Money Talks and BS walks". Lennox, Vitali and Wlad exit the ring. To be continued.....
Just lost alot of respect for Haye, and I hope he loses in any potential fight between the pair, and I say that as a Brit. Very classy display from Klitschko.
Oh please! Tired of you fickle mother ****ers. If Haye did anything less than step to steroid wladdy's face, you idiots would have said he's ducking him.
