First off. Props to Haye on his win over Ruiz. The speed difference was clear and decisive. Obviously it is a good win since Ruiz is hard to stop. I think Miguel Diaz knew that Ruiz had been battered enough and didn't have enough pop left to get a KO. Good decision. But lets be honest here. Valuev and Ruiz are what they are. It does have me wondering how Haye would do against Chambers with his speed. Sam Peters has decent hand speed, has more pop than Chambers and looks to be serious again. Would it be wise for Haye to take one of these guys before a Klitchko? I think either one would be a decent guide post as to where he really stands in the heavy weight division. I know everyone wants Haye/Klitcko. History tells me not to hold my breath though. Negotiations will be tougher than ever because Haye will see himself as being on equal footing.
The winner of Arreola-Adamek should come before the names you mentioned. This would set up more interest in a potential Klischko matchup, that this time may actually be televised.Chambers has already had the door slammed in his face by the American audience and his pathetic loss didnt make thinks any better.
From what I saw tonight? I think both Chambers and Peter give him some problems. Peter takes a helluva shot and doesn't stop coming forward. Haye could probably wisk away with a decision but the KO is doubtful. Chambers would give him a lot to think about. Given some rebound fights of course.
Chagaev-Meehan is a WBA eliminator next month. Haye shouldn't have to fight the winner straight away but it could interfere with getting a Klit fight (at least as WBA champ,) if he doesn't fight the winner soon.
Haye vs Adamek next (if he gets past Arreola) I would like to see him against: Either Klitschko (probly wont happen for a while) Peter Arreola Adamek Chambers Povetkin All them fights would be good for the division
I just want to see Haye in with someone that has a little speed as a gage. That would make it an interesting match from my perspective.
Chambers might fight Haye next, but he's going to need time to rest. What Chambers does next is uncertain. I think Povetkin and Wladimir are in negotiations, although Teddy Atlus said that Povetkin isn't ready.
I agree. I think that Haye should look at fighting the winner of Adamek-Arreola too. That matchup is almost guaranteed to be on HBO.
Haye doesn't want to fight on much longer remember. His intention is to unify the division so he may well take the quickest route possible.
There is a difference between what he says and what he does. He already pulled out of one fight and dropped negotiations in another. I'm interested in seeing him in there with someone that isn't going to be at such a speed disadvantage. Mandatory or not, we all knew exactly what Ruiz was.
