ESPN reporting Eddie Chambers has accepted a deal to fight Haye even though Eddie has a fight scheduled before. But Booth may still make another offer to Monte Barrett.

Goosen: "We're ready to go. We've accepted the fight. If they don't want it, we'll [go] forward with what we had planned for Eddie."

Nothing final but i'll will give Haye major cred if he fights Eddie. Chambers is a legit top 10 hw and is very skilled. Chambers needs to come in as close to 200 as possible. His conditioning or lack thereof may be the determing factor. That being said, Chambers ko 10 Haye :yep

barrett is ok but a win there wont make the same statement over chambers would.

If Haye-Chambers get made, Haye fans should be proud.

Haye-Chambers would be a decent fight...WAAAAAY better than fuggin JD Chapman, Ray Mercer or Kevin Johnson.

Monte Barrett? I mean he did kill the Fields hype train (making him my favorite fighter..EVER!) but who knows.

rafael says it's either Chambers or Barrett for sure. thankfully mercer, chapman, etc are out. Adam Booth makes the final call though. Chambers is by far the bigger challenge despite his lack of size. skilled, slick and smart. his conditioning is the biggest issue imo.

it's a fight i definetely want to see.

Chambers UD or late stoppage. Would be a legitimate debut .

It'll be like the matrix in there for "Slow" Eddie.

I agree, Chambers won't be too bad. I also think Barrett would be a decent choice, after hearing about the possibility of it being Mercer and Chapman.

I think Chambers, with his speed and impressive skills may be a handful for Haye.

But given that Chambers seems to have zero power, I think I'd just as soon see Haye fight Barrett, who does have some KO power with which to nail Haye and test his punch resistance.

As fast as Chambers is, he might as well be throwing pillows at Haye, given his lack of power.

FINALLY, a real match-up. Actually, I have a hard time believing this will happen, it's such a risky fight for Haye. Chambers is a much, much better boxer, and has been in against some big guys. Chambers by UD or late tko, when Haye is completely winded and frustrated. Then, back to CW for Haye.

Wouldn't it be a kicker if Haye LOST his big, dramatically sought, and eagerly anticipated heavyweight debut?

This fight would show that one of these two fighters doesn't belong at heavyweight. And it wouldn't be Haye.
