Possibly, but Haye will undoubtedly be looking for a guaranteed or underwritten purse and these sales make the fight look like a certainty from where I'm sitting.

Of course, this method will generate a wonderful gate for those involved, the authorities wont dare to pull the plug on this bout now, as much as they try they wont succeed, im more interested in my tickets being the correct value rather than a Vegas style buy out.

A minortiy of what? Of the UK? There are roughy 60 Million people in the UK, so that would make the 20k a minority...

A good percentage of those tickets will have been bought en block by companies for later resale, not by individual fans.

Where is the evidence for that?

It is a tough one, boxing has very a strange moral code. Basically a general theory would be: If it is economically sound to do it, boxing will.

On this point; as he is probably going to have 35,000+ fans watching his promotion, with TV sales on top, Frank may think it an excellent idea. But this needs to be weighed up against a public outcry, which could in the end do him more damage long term.

Yes, there are people who will want the sport banned no matter what. But also there are people, who like boxing who are shaking their heads, thinking the sport is getting closer and close to WWF, or worse still have finally decided to wash their hands of the sport entirely.

Tabloid headlines aside, which will settle down if things don't kick off again, I don't think there will be a public outcry. For one thing I don't think the general public have an high enough opinion of boxing that a scuffle at press conference is seen as THAT shocking.

Given the nuances involved in this fight, do we need Cass Pennant to be there to save boxing, again?

It shows how popular the ticket agencies THINK the event is. I'm sure they're not often wrong but....
