Haye closes in on Klitschko http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=15829&more=1 The undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world David Haye will ‘force Wladimir Klitschko’s hand’ for a shot at the heavyweight title once he has brushed aside his first two opponents in the division. Haye’s next four fights will be screened exclusively on Setanta Sports. Speaking to Setanta Sports News from the O2 Arena in London Haye said: “I am the undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world. It’s a good achievement. But that’s not my ultimate ambition. “My ultimate ambition is to become the heavyweight champion, a two weight world champion and to go out there and clean up the heavyweight division. “The heavyweight championship is held by a guy called Wladimir Klitschko. He’s universally recognised as the number one fighter, so that’s the guy I have to go after.. “I’m willing to fight the best out there to get to the main man. And when I get there, I’m going to knock him out live on Setanta Sports.” Haye will make his heavyweight debut late in 2009, his first fight since beating Enzo Maccarinelli in the cruiserweight unification bout in March of this year. The self-styled ‘Hayemaker’ is confident that he can make his mark on the division. He said: “There’s going to be a serious, serious name coming along November time. You’ll see me against a top ten heavyweight and I’m not only going to beat this guy I’m going to obliterate him. “I’m going to go out there and smash him to bits and do something no other fighter has done to him before. “Whoever’s in the top ten, you better watch out because I’m coming for you.”
Well who are these first two opponents he's supposedly going to just brush off? Cause if they're real live bodies in the heavyweight division he might have a **** load more trouble trying to get past them than what some people expect. If he gets past them at all. And Arran's got a point... hopefully it's just a typo or something cause late 2009 is way too long to wait for Haye to get serious about contending at heavyweight.
I think 220-225 would be his optimum weight - he walks around at 225-230 ish, so that would suit him just fine. With the exception of Wladimir, who is a very good (though technical and boring) fighter, the rest are a bunch of puddings/chumps (whatever you want to call them) and he would beat those with ease. And he is correct, they are a disgrace!
I donot think that Sam Peter is a stupid fighter I think it is his culture to be very aggressive. I think that if Sam Peter went after Haye for twelve rounds he would win He comes into the fight in shape around 235 to 240. he would have haye on a bicycle all night.
commentator kept saying lies throught out that "David Hayes career is in shatters" "The referees going to stop it" "David Haye will end this in round 1"
Virchis is a bad match up for Haye, the guy has an iron chin and a massive punch. I think Haye would struggle against guys like that.
