Haye considers options

    David Haye is considering other options for a fight in September in case he is unable to get a face against either Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko.
    Haye was forced to pull out of his eagerly-anticipated heavyweight title showdown with Wladimir Klitschko due to a back injury - and that could have cost him a shot with either brother.
    The Ukrainian was unimpressed with Haye's behaviour in the build-up and the way he pulled out, and stand-in Ruslan Chagaev took the brunt after being on the wrong end of a nine-round beating in Germany.
    Haye insists he is fight to fit now in September or October and says he will face either Klitschko, but Wladimir voiced his frustration after the Chagaev win by blasting Haye as "unprofessional" and told him to "get in line" for a title shot.
    The IBF, WBO and IBO champion now looks set to fight Russian Alexander Povetkin next, saying: "I was ready for Alexander Povetkin, but he pulled out with his injury last year, but I would like to give him a chance again."
    Options

    'The Hayemaker' and his management are talking now with Vitali about a September showdown, but the WBC champion is also talking to a couple of other possible challengers.
    "I would like to fight Haye and right now we are talking to Nicolay Valuev, Chris Arreola and Haye," said Vitali.
    "Let's see where we can get a good result. I would like to fight all three and all three would have interest worldwide."
    Giant Russian WBA champion Valuev would literally be the biggest clash and would give the Klitschkos another belt between them, while unbeaten Californian Arreola would prove popular with the American audience.
    With 28-year-old Haye now wondering if he will get his chance at a Klitschko, his manager Adam Booth is also looking at other options.

    Opponents

    "We are looking at the options and I have a few opponents in my mind. Where he fights next depends upon who he fights," said Booth.
    "They always negotiate on multiple terms. September 12 has been spoken about against Vitali.
    "But we are not going to sit around and wait for them. I'm looking at other options and we always have done.
    "If the Vitali fight comes up, we will do that. Right now we are getting David fit to box again for September or October.
    "We have sent medical documents to the Klitschkos saying David is fit to box from the end of July, so they are not waiting on anything from us."

    Sky are pretty much gearing up for an offer for Haye, because they were not doing this many stories on him before.

    :goodCompletely agree. As far as Sky were concerned he didn't even exist before. Jessica Alba- that's who that is on your avatar; I've been trying to put the name to the face for ages.

    Ha, if Haye picks any one but a Klit the people in the general forum are gunna have a melt down calling him a *****, whether Vitali wants the fight or not. Personally I'd love to see Haye fight Arreola, if he knocked him out I doubt the Klit nut huggers would then be able to legitimately say Haye doesn't deserve a shot (they will anyway but that's how it goes with some people).

    The amount of bollocks being spouted out on the global forum about Wladimir Klitschko is unbelieveable. The way some are talking he is better than Ali, Johnson, Louis, Tyson and Lewis put together and it wouldn't suprise me if they demand that all talk about the Second Coming is suspended whilst they investigate Wlad's potential claim to be the long awaited returning Messiah. :roll:

    I've been wanting that fight for ages, too. It's a good and entertaining fight to be made if the fights against the two brothers don't come off. The Wladettes can't complain about Haye's status in each of the ABC's rankings if he fights and beats Arreola as well- he's not badly ranked by the WBC & WBO at the moment anyway but this is a fact conveniently left out by the nuthuggers.

    I'm sure if Haye did beat Arreola they'd all claim that if Arreola was in shape then he'd have beat Haye via a 3 knock down rule in the first anyway:lol:. The jokers.

    Agreed, there is no way on this Earth that fight would go 12 rounds. I like both fighters but because I'm English, I tend towards Haye to support and it would truly be a middle finger to all the guys doubters who go on about his "right" to fight the HW Champion. With the "talent" in the HW scene right now, I literally can't believe my eyes when I go in the general forum and read the stuff about David Haye, moan, moan, moan about the HW division and then we have an exciting, mouthy contender who win or lose is going to make it a good fight and they HATE him so much they don't want him to fight Klit, ****ing unwinable. I bet you every last penny I own that if David Haye was an American, he'd be the BIGGEST name in the HW division (until he fights either of K2 obviously) and the PR around him wouldn't need his mouth to run, they'd do it all for him.

    What I don't get is why an eastern european , who fights with an even more cautious version of the Lennox / Emmanuel style is so popular amongst the american posters. They derided Lennox for years calling him dull etc ( which he sometimes kinda was i guess ) then along comes Wlad doing the same , engaging even less and they cream themselves over him ?? Its mad !

    I completely agree. The fact that he's not American is their gripe with Haye. I'm a big fan of Arreola- the fact that he's American doesn't bother me one bit and I think the same goes for the majority of other boxing fans- if he's exciting and wants to mix it up then he'll always have the fans behind him.

    It's exactly the same with people like Darchinyan- if he's American then he's 'charismatic' if he's foreign he's a 'trash-talking, glass chinned idiot with a padded record'.

    I love Areola and think he's a bit of fresh air in the Heavyweight decision but I really don't give a **** about his nationality or, for that matter, anyone elses...

    Speaking of Areola, I was on holiday in Barbados with the girlfriend last November and he was fighting on HBO. Much to the missus' annoyment I decided that awful we would be going out that evening I wasn't going ANYWHERE until his fight was over! If looks could kill...:good
