Based on what, exactly? All those average cruiserweights he beat?

Or maybe his "loss" to Valuev?

Don't mention Audley or I'll have to smack you.

    So, really, based on WHAT?

Sorry for the late response. Just got back from a local card that had some great fights.

I'm not a great boxing analyst. Never claimed to be. While lots of things are possible, they are not likely. You are underestimating Vitaly by quite a wide margin. What does it take for a fighter to use a low guard effectively? Vitaly likes to let that front left dangle to draw fighters in. Problem is it is at exactly the level it needs to be to go into the opponents face when they try because of his height. When you have someone with the punch power of a Wlad or Vitaly it is really hard to close the distance for the shorter man. Haye couldn't do it well against Valuev save for one punch. This is what made the call on the Wlad/David fight such an easy call. Most of this still holds EXCEPT now he will go against someone that enjoys mixing it up and won't hold back like his brother. Can Haye hit the lottery? Sure, it COULD happen but he didn't do enough to improve his odds against Wlad and I see his chances against Vitaly even slimmer. Could I be wrong? Sure, but I just don't see anything in Haye's past that tells me he has what it takes to win against a good big man.

Haye's problem is that Vitaly will invite him in, unlike Wlad. :deal

    :good

Haye´s defensive was excellent against Wlad, very fast. I never expected that Haye could act so fast against Wlad.

Vitali never was good against defensive fighters (Byrd lost TKO) or Johnson.

Vitali is slow, maybe Haye can win by UD against Vitali or DQ.

Wladimir was very very calm, and this was the only way to win the fight. He was calm and show how fast he himself is.

I cannot believe all this talk, Vitali will KO Haye. Vitali never looks good against a defensive fighter.

Well then that's even more of an endorsement on Haye's defense. He was slipping a guy throwing down with decent speed. Why would Vitali do even better, when he's slower and arm punches? Granted they are hard arm punches, but he's not as sharp as Wlad. Haye should be able to nullify Vitali in much the same way, and he has a better chance of getting off his offensive game too, cos he'll find Vitali a lot easier to catch.

That's some strange retelling of the story cos that was no ass whipping against Wlad. Not even close to an ass whipping. Where was the KO that Wlad promised? Where was the pizza face? Haye actually did not do that bad. Just didn't get off enough to really trouble Wlad but he has him working hard in there no doubt. Wlad knew one slip of concentration and Haye had enough of a shot of knocking him out.

I hope this fight happens, as it'd be the most interesting HW fight to be made, I think.

His "style" ie lack of defense and wide looping punches does not pose problems for Vitali who will counter the **** out of him.[/QUOTE]

He has great defensive reflexes, you can't take that away from him, but being slick and hard to hit isn't going to help Haye win a fight against Vitali, he needs to show that he wants his belt, and not just wait 12 rounds for the paycheck

Cmon, Wladimir wanted to give Haye a nice pizza face but he couldnt. I rather believe in Vitali giving Haye a nice torture for 12 rounds until Haye cries and gives up.

Vitaly has never seen the slick blackness of a superior black athlete like Haye.

Wlad managed to beat him coz Manny Steward is from detroit and he's familiar with Haye's slickness.

Haye is hard to hit cleanly, no question about it.

His amazing defensive speed and moves are impressive, regardless if you are a fan or not, you gotta admit that.

When Wlad was firing into thin air, with Haye right in front of him, I was amazed. Granted, Haye did move away alot, but many times, he was RIGHT IN FRONT of Wlad, and Wlad still was missing ALOT more than he normally does. Even Wlad stated how hard Haye was to hit..

And Haye didn't get the one sided beating from Wlad most seem to say he did.

A fight with Vitali would not do the numbers the Wlad fight did, who, it'd still be a big seller and would be very intersting.

Most interesting HW matchup I can think of.
