K2 has the right for options or rematch clauses. It is a volutary defence. So nothing wrong with this.

Well, there would clearly be rematch options meaning he'd either fight Vitali again or Wlad would unify the division . . .

I agree. Also Haye mentioned (before the Chisora fight) he already agreed to "K2s rematch options" so that wouldn't be a problem.

If Haye won against Vitali and then fought Povetkin he'd likely be sued by K2 and force his hand in court.

 

we already had that and it was a boring fight. 98% because of Haye. Fool me once shame on me fool me twice shame on you.

I responded but am yet to hear back.

 

I'm still waiting for an answer on how Haye flopping to the ground when Wlad already has him tied up and is leaning on him, is preventing him from being knocked out. That's probably my favourite bit.

 

Haye knows he's only ever two fights away from greatness with his stature.



If he beats vitali he'll almost definitely have a 50/50 with wlad for all the marbles. He wins and he completely unifies the division with consecutive victories over hof hw champions. He loses and he is set as the second best to a genuinely atg champion.

All the while he makes millions. He has the ability, motivation and drive to go for it and I genuinely believe if it don't happen it's coz vitali says no.

Haye has always been willing to challenge himself and that can't be denied.

I think this is one of the few fights that can be properly hyped in the division today.

 

That's why I said I know it will be a stinker. It won't be a great fight but at least it will create a fully unified HW champion -- Wlad vs. Haye didn't do that.
