He makes some points but why say it at all? DeGale did very well to get gold and is still learning and can improve. Not saying he'll make it as a pro but Haye doesn't come out looking good in this article imo.
He was on the General Forum a few months ago answering questions about his recent lack of activity. The thread ended up with childish name calling and some morons calling Haye a ******. Can't really blame him for staying away...
who'd of thought it. an anti-haye bandwagon taking form in the british forum. i don't think i'll be jumping on. i'm guessing setanta specifically asked haye what he thought about degale and if he would try signing him and haye just spoke his mind. can't really fault him for that although he could have toned it down - its not like degale has been hyped up to become a pro superstar (yet)
I napped it before the Enzo fight, he was getting a lot of praise on here for signing with Setanta and fighting in the UK rather than going PPV and to America like JC and Hatton. I knew it was only a matter of time before the mob turned on him...;O)
I'm on no bandwagon but Haye is basically trying to Hype up Groves and even Sutherland when DeGale most likely isn't even going to turn pro yet. He could have just said he did well to win gold but the pros are very different.
Haye is being a fool from a business point of view here though. if he was to sign degale, or any of the olympians to his promotional stable, it would make him allot of cash. and bring allot of publicity to his fighters.
he's only said this because he knows he has no chance of signing degale, its basically saying to warren my fighter (groves) is better than yours
Not according to Warren's interview in the Guardian this morning. He's not interested in De Gale and talked more about Billy Joe Saunders and Gavin.
Struggled at 200lbs. Won't take a clean shot from a decent heavyweight, won't hurt a decent heavyweight with his overated power.
its funny how haye is signing up a bunch brawlers with limited skills, this is the idiot that said baldomir would walk down mayweather and hatton would KO him inside 6, such is his dislike for sweet practitioners of the sweet science
haye and degale will on the boxing hour 2together should be fireworks as they're both not short of a word or 2
No need for Haye to talk like that. It's just plain stupid. DeGale definitely has potential. The guy has alot wrong with his game yet won the Olympic Gold. Like Khan he can change his game alot and improve.
This is David Haye-promoter. He's doing this to build up his young fighter in Groves and possibly try and attract Sutherland in joining with him(or maybe he just wanted to make the comment about Sutherland anyway). It's not simply him giving his opinion, there's method in it.
