Cue the Brittard revisionism. Haye was utterly dominated for 12 rounds. His effort and fight plan for a once in a lifetime oppurtunity were cringe worthy. His post fight excuse making and ref blaming, were even worse.
good third round, he just had a bad game plan, and didn't know how to close the distance so he stop throwing
Haye's only attempt to win the fight was flopping and getting the ref to deduct Wlad a point and possibly DQ him.
people cant be HARSH enough on Haye... 1) Haye called them out in 2008 2) for 3 years + he said how he was gonna destroy them and not run like everyone else 3) his speed and power would be the difference 4) at first he asked for a shot because he hadnt earned it...then he agrees to terms and pulls out, calling it a slave contract...then he wins a paper title that wlad acutally won from chagaev....now Haye demands parody...because his one win at the time was equal to wlads 14 or 15 heavyweight title fights.... 5) so 3 years later, he gets the money he wants, he finally gets in the ring, and he DIDNT DO ****. lost 11 out of 12 rounds...if thats brief success...doesnt take much to impress you now repeat 1,2,3,4, 5
The guy survived 12 rounds without being beaten up, deserves props for that. That's great for a former Cruiserweight.
Not according to Manny Steward. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/100068.html Wow there goes the obligatory post fight praise.
Not if you call all previous opponents of Wlad "fat bums who never tried to win and just came to pick up a paycheck" :deal
Are you going to give him props for falling down so many times and not breaking his knee caps too? The benchmark of success isn't survival, but giving your all and making it a fight. Did Haye give his all? Was his effort adaquate, nevermind praiseworthy, for such a big fight?
vLAD SUPPOSEDLY THE BEST HEAVYWEIGHT OF THIS ERA DOMINANT FOR THE LAST DECADE WAS MADE TO LOOK CLUMSY!! THIS WAS HIS BIGGEST EVER FIGHT AND AUDIENCE AND A CHANCE TO PROVE HIS WORTH. CONSIDERING HE WAS FIGHTING A BLOWN UP CRUISERWEIGHT WHO SUPPOSEDLY TALKED HIS WAY TO A TITLE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO GO AFTER HIM AND KNOCK HIM OUT IN THE BRUTAL FASHION HE PROMISED!! INSTEAD WHAT HE DID WAS MISS, MISS AND MISS AGAIN!! HE RAN AROUND THE RING NEVER FULLY COMMITED AND SCARED TAKING STEP BACKS EVERY TIME THE HAYMAKER SWUNG!! HE NEVER WON ANY ROUNDS BY A HUGE MARGIN AND BY THE END OF THE 12 ROUNDS HE CAME OUT LOOKING BUSTED UP!! WHAT A GREAT ERA 4 HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING WE MUST B IN!!
