Haye didn't finish the job at Cruiserweight.

Agreed, While I rate Cunningham highly, I would not only favour Haye but would also say that there's no reason for Haye to fight him.

Haye is the top cruiser in the world. he's probably at the bottom end of the top 10 p4p list or just outside it.

Cunnigham I'd definatly have in the top25.

Cunningham should defend against the Adamek/Bell winner here in the states, then fight Maccarinelli in England in defense of his belt at the end of the year. Maccarinelli is probably still marketable, especially if you get him a comeback win and play off the knockout loss as a case of getting caught cold by a hard puncher.

If Cunningham becomes the next dominant champ at Cruiserweight, Haye is gonna wish that he took care of him when he had the chance.

He fought the one and two in his division at the time.

What do you want Haye to do, beat all the fighters in the top 20 to ensure he beat the future man at the weight?

    By who?
If you mean places like this question would be raised if he koed prime joe louis, holyfield and ali on the same night, they would say why didn't he get tyson and lewis as well.
Haye is the top man at this weight class everyone knows it, he know fights at heavyweight and has no reason to fight cuningham and nothing to prove to anyone,

The best thing for the sport is to have Haye fight heavyweight. He will, and should, move up permanently after Saturday's fight. Cunningham is a good fighter, and being the good fighter he is, he will no doubt be a top contender for all of Haye's belts once they're vacated. I wish both fighters the best.

I wouldn´t just write off Cunningham as having no chance and I think Haye should beat both Cunningham and Bell to be completely undisputed. However, Haye was already looking to go heavy after the Mormeck fight and was going out of his way for last nights fight.

The heavyweight division needs excitement, so let Haye go there.

Haye - Cunningham would be a good fight, because Haye makes mistakes and a smart fighter like Cunningham could exploit them. Maz was just a strong, quick slugger. He's powerful but crude. Cunningham is a smart, experienced fighter and behind Haye has the best skill set in the division.

For instance, when Haye goes to the body he is often totally exposed to a counter, either hand. He leaves himself open and reaches down, getting a lot of leverage on his bodyshots, but he's wide open when he does it. Enzo couldn't capitalize on that, but Cunningham is a smarter fighter than Mac and could. He throws right-hand leads, which can be countered too. He also has that low left hand, which is something that we all know about but he seems to pull off very well. But I still think its a vulnerability.

The point is there are very few heavyweights out there smart and quick enough to exploit that, and two guys I think could do it are Eddie Chambers and Steve Cunningham.

Macca was never the number 2 guy. Cunningham was the number 2 before Macca fought Haye.

Maccaranelli posed the biggest threat to Haye in the division.

He has KO power and many thought he could trouble Haye.

A guy like Cunningham wouldn't KO Haye and he wouldn't outbox him either, would just be an inevitable KO for Haye.

I agree with illmatic the alphabet belts mean nothing haye beat THE MAN at crusierweight in Mormeck to become the champion of the division he only fought Enzo because it was a big domestic fight. I haven't seen cunningham fight so i wont comment on the outcome of a haye-cunningham. But IMO haye has nothing to prove at crusier and is right to go after the money and glory that comes with being heavyweight champ
