Haye should fight Cunningham at cruiser because once he moves up to heavyweight and fights a guy who can punch, it's going to be lights out for Haye.

I thought Mormeck was the champion, through he and Bell's unification bouts, when Haye beat him. So whoever else has a belt means little at that point. Like someone pointed out, does Calzaghe have to beat Bute to be the champ since Bute has a belt? No.

Having said that, Cunningham would have been a live underdog against Haye. He is clearly better than Macirenneli and poses a tougher style match-up. Would be a very interesting fight, but Haye would and should be favored. Still, Haye is making the right choice by moving up to heavyweight.

Mayweather is the man at WW. He beat Baldo, who beat Judah, who had all the belts. Does this mean Floyd won't have any question marks on his resume if he never fights Cotto?

USS was the biggest threat to Haye at Cruiser. Unfortunately, he was the smallest reward. Steve's biggest following is in Germany, which is sad because he's American. He has the style to take Haye deep into a fight, and with his boxing skills, I could see him getting a decision if they fought. The risk would be too great for David to take.

According to the rankings and just about all the "experts" and numerous folks here who thought he would ko Cunningham. The polls were lopsided.

Jones beat Nelson for the WBO title but was blatantly robbed and Rothmann was a good fighter who was beating Bell when he got stopped.

The threads point was that since Cunningham has a belt than Haye isn't the undisputed champion. That, like Mayweather's situation is not the case. There is no dispute as to who is the champion. Is Cunningham a worthy contender? Yes, but there is always another deserving contender out there. No matter who you are or what divsion you are in. But Haye is the undisputed cruiserweight champ, Cunningham's belt doesnt effect that.

Cunningham is a pretty weak challenger at best.

Once Haye gets KTFO at Heavyweight, he will move back down and ask Cunningham for a fight.

I think Haye can move up and dominate, he looked very very strong last night. If anyone has seen his previous fight ? It was at HW against a ranked opponent in Bonin and he totally broke him up in no time at all.
If Haye is smart he will work on his technique and iron out that hanging left. If he does that he will stand less chance of getting hit by a lights out punch.
He will never move back down to CW, his body just can't take it.
I'm afraid all you Haye haters are soon going to have to put up with a brit ruling the HW division - and yo momma!!! :D

I like Haye quite a bit, and he's accomplished all he needs to at Cruiser. I do suspect that he'll need to be matched carefully at HW, though, because he obviously does not possess a big-time big-man chin.

Would love to see Haye fight Cunningham, but it probably won't ever happen. I read that Haye is taking the rest of the year off as he has a child on the way.

I can't see Haye having any chance vs. Vitali, Vlad, Valouev, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Povetkin, or even Peter.

Really? With his speed and conditioning, he could outbox some of those guys. I do agree that he can't become a great heavy because of the chin issue, but given the trouble Chambers caused Povetkin, do you think it's out of the question Haye could defeat him?

coming from the man who's impaling himself daily on cunningham.

some of you need to refresh your minds when it comes to lineage. anyone who tells you haye isn't the man and isn't the undisputed champ is a moron, end of story.
