If it is true the maker of this thread said that Povetkin is past his best then that should be K-boy fan quote of the month. The statment this thread is taking the mick out of is stupid but not ridiculous. Haye and Vitali's recent opponents have been of a similar standard but Vitali has fought a lot of bums in his career, until he fought Hide all the guys he had beaten were crap but the fact is that he is a heavy hitter.
Funny because Ruiz did a much better job on Mcline than Peter could. The guy is a solid opponent in this era. He would beat Briggs and Sosnowski.
k, i'm a huge wlad fan and though i hate jumping to the last page...but i'm gonna you cannot trash haye for taking on two top 10 guys and then turn around and justify the klitschkos resumes by saying that they're fighting "the best in their era". it's true, the klits are fighting the best available opponents...who happen to be pretty shitty. and i for one use that to defend them, that they can only knock out and beat up who they have in front of them. well, if they only have crappy, but still top 10 ranked opponents then so does haye. if the klit (fans) can defend their reputation by saying "at least he's rated...they're clearing out the top 10" then why can't haye fans? Wlad should get credit for beating up on eddie chambers and sam peter: they were top 10 ranked opponents and the best available Haye should get credit for beating up on old ruiz and valuev: they were top 10 ranked opponents and (just about) the best available. the only knock on haye is not getting the wlad fight. oh well. the only opponent right now i'll **** on haye for is harrison. no defense for that but ruiz and valuev are on par with many of wlad and vit's opponents and to deny that is hating on haye for no reason. he's given us plenty of REAL reasons to hate him, use those
But Ruiz was not Top 10. He'd lost 4/7 of his last fights and he was coming off a long lay-off with only one warm-up. Valuev wouldn't have been a Top 10 ranked fighter if he hadn't gotten a gift decision against Holyfield. He wasn't the legitimate WBA champ either, after having lost to Chagaev.
Some Haye fans are ****ing stupid as well as the Klit nutt huggers. Haye was on ringside yesterday and come across very humble and stated that ' He wishes the heavyweight division was at a better standard and that he can only fight whats in front of him', he clearly stated his resume is not that good and admitted the Harrison fight was all about the money, stated he only fought John Ruiz caz he was the mandatary opponent. He really does want this fight with Wlad i dont think he seems to bothered about Vitali, but ringside is definately worth a watch if you get the chance.
