Listen, i'll tell you all now before we start - I HAVE YET TO WATCH THE FIGHT ! I was on nights and am again tonight :good SO i'm not commenting on his performance

It seems to me that a lot of people here are going overboard in their celebrations.......

    • Haye won a fight that he was odds on favourite to win
    • He did not back up any KO claims he made before hand
    • He got a decision that although the majority claim was correct there is still a lot of people out there disputing this.
I understand that once again without any promotional backing, he went abroad and won, but really............. Was this as good as some people are making it out to be and does anyone (who picked the Klits beforehand) now change their opinion on his chances vs either Klit after last nights performance ??

    Well done David Haye btw

    That is all :good

Stop being so boring. Britain has a HW Champ for Christ's sake.

    1) I think we're entitled to feel happy about it.
    2) I've yet to come across a post like 'Haye is the best of the current HWs'. People on here know the context of the win.

He showed decent stamina, constant defence AND managed to buckle the beast, which shows his power is legit even against big heavys. You up for Ruiz at theO2 if it happens Dan, Haye has already said he'll knockRuiz out.

He was a former cruiserweight who just beat the biggest heavyweight of all time - I think we can go a little overboard!

First up, doesn't EVERY fighter say they are going to win by KO? I don't even let that stuff register.

Secondly, the manner in which he performed impressed me. As Lee Meager said on Buncey's show once 'everyone has a plan - til they get punched in the face'. Haye executed brilliantly. It is **** to watch and frustrating but he did what he planned to a tee. How many fighters can do that? Not many.

Lastly, the guy has gone to Germany and won the heavyweight crown. It wasn't in great style. I could see people scoring a draw or even a 7-5 Valuev, but to me Haye deservedly won.

But come on, the guy has won the heavyweight title. Does the style even matter?! We seem to ask a lot of fighters these days.

Come on Kos give it a rest with this biggest Heavyweight of all time crap. Valuev would have been stood on his head by around 6/7 fighters last decade

think it is a small achievement to have been the first man to wobble the biggest title holder in HW history. I'm just glad Haye won, hopefully he will gain widespread recognition when he takes out Wlad (which I have said for ages, I'm not caught up in the excitement and making a rash pick. Still unsure on Vitali)

Not just his fans . The clowns on 5 live were trying too say it was the best British win , away from home . They were describing a mayweather type performance.

Probably more than that in fact, but facts are facts - Haye was very much unproven at heavy, had terrible stamina, a poor chin, couldn't work to a gameplan etc. etc. Yet he still managed to beat someone who held all the physical advantages (and by some margin) and was a lot more proven at the weight comfortably in my opinion.

Yeah lots of people on the Brit forum thought Haye was going to win, however not many experts did (you could say they had a less biased view of the fight). This was a massive achievement that should be appreciated.

I do appreciate it mate but some onhere are talking as if its ****ing Douglas/Tyson all over again. I would have expected Losfer who was a big Haye backer pre fight to calm down. Its like he was picking Valuev but now Haye achieved the impossible he can't stop playing with himself

(Sorry to use you as an example Losfer :good)

An outrageous comparison to Mayweather from 5 Live - p
Pretty Boy Floyd would not fight someone his own weight these days, let alone 7 stone heavier

I thought the jab to the stomach, lateral movement and poor workrate was very Floyd-esque actually.

Reminded me of Floyd-Baldomir at times. Floyd had no need to engage and Baldomir not the first clue how to make him.
