Too be honest, I was never really a fan of Wlad's. Though before 2003, I couldn't say he wasn't exciting to watch. The man was an offensive powerhouse, that let punches go. After he was knocked out a couple times, Steward taught him the style of jab and grab. He has since been down only a couple times (against Peter) and has risen to the top of his game. Though by changing style, turned off most american fans and in 08 HBO had enough of him as well. His fight Iggy being the last straw, and the last fight he fought in the US as well.

I could care less if where Wlad is from or that he's white. What matters to me if you have heart, toughness, and exciting fighting style. All 3 of which I feel Wlad is lacking. At least with Haye you got a guy thats willing take chances in the ring for the most part and can sell a fight. I just hope he steps up eventually and does less talking and more fighting.

No, Wlad is actually extremely funny, and very entertaining. Not only that... he is actually a great boxer. That's why some of us actually watch boxing... to watch the boxing.

I live in Ohio... and every hardcore and casual fan that I know watch both Klitschkos everytime that one of their fights is aired in the United States. Ohio is pretty far outside of Germany.

 Your friends in ohio don't speak for the entire country Widdow. I think HBO will tell you, the Klit's just don't pull in big viewing numbers anymore. If they were that popular, HBO would of continued showing their fights instead of us having to watch them through the internet.

It does **** me off, cause I actually like watching the brothers fight. Though I also understand how business works. If your not pulling your weight at the job, you will get canned eventually. Sorry to say, Wlad just isn't exciting the fans anymore like he used to.

Brits have won way more real wars than US. You stole our Empire. Damn colonists...

The polite, calm and reserved British image is just a cover for one of the most aggresive nations in history.

We invented boxing as you know it, old chum.

No ****... that poster clearly doesn't speak for the entire country either. However, I can speak for myself and the boxing fans that I do know. Which is exactly what I did.

I think that you are wrong. The Klitschkos drew VERY high ratings for HBO. It had nothing to do with ratings... and everything to do with HBO becoming too controlling over the fighters who fight on HBO. They were clearly pissed that Wlad kept on fighting in Germany... which only made sense for him because he makes so much more money there. HBO only wants to really get behind fighters from the United States... or at least guys like Pac, who always fight in the US, and has become so popular. Look how hard they were riding the Chris Arreola train before Vitali derailed it.

Look at the stars who came out to watch a Klitschko fight....

I seen the numbers for the Chagaev/Klitschko fight, as well as the Vitali/Gomez bout on ESPN. The numbers were quite low in comparison to other fights that took place that year. I know we have been over this, but the downfall came after the Wlad/Iggy fight back in early 08. Which I believe was the last time Wlad fought in the states. The crowd booed, fans were unhappy at home, even Emanuel was disgusted that night at Wlad's reluctance to go for the kill. It just seemed like that was the last straw.

Yeah, Arreola was the heavyweight star for HBO. Thats because he attracted a huge latino market, not to mention he did have a pretty exciting fighting style and likable personality. I could see why HBO took a chance on him.

As far as HBO wanting american fighters or fighters that at least fight in the states, that may be true to extent. Though I remember Wlad still fighting a good bit in Germany while he was with HBO. The second Brewster fight, Austin, Bryd etc... Thats just off the top of my head. I will look up the numbers from 02-08 and see if they decreased through the years or not tomorrow when I got some free time. I'm kinda curious as to the real reason HBO pulled the plug on Wlad.

Great thread. Im embarrassed to call these tools my countrymen. I voted for the last 3 poll options (the first is superceded by the second).

The Brittish media manipulates fans in beliving that Haye is great fighter and that he is not the one who avoids the K bros.

HA,aint it funny that the OP doesnt have the balls to even try argue a sensible well rounded opinion like this post!.

i start to wonder that most Haye haters are not really klitschko fans, but just plain forum spammers.

to not notice all the clear bitchyness of the klitschkos is madness.

Honestly you should see the media in the UK concerning haye, in their eyes he can do no wrong. And it's possible to support haye in a fight and not hug his nuts. I'm fully capable of liking a fighter in the ring and not outside of it. For example my favourite fighter to watch is jmm but i hate the way he whines outside the ring.

I'd be cheering for Haye if he fights a klit but I know he has been a ***** in the negotiations over the last two years. I do also think the Klits have been way too rigid in their negotiations for people who say they desperately want this fight.

The media's rimming of Haye is just hugely off putting, though I have a bone to pick with your second point. Your talking as if Haye has bent over and taken it up the jacksie hard when he was the one clamouring for the fight 2 1/2 years ago saying all he needed was a ring and a referee who could count to 10, now he expects 50-50, is offended when the real champion wants to enter the ring first etc.
