I will criticise him if he retires without fighting a Klit, until then I don't know whats gonna happen, i dont know either way so i wouldnt waste energy moaning " he WILL fight em " or " he'll never fight em " and i dont pay much attention to any of the **** talking in between
I voted to give him a pass. But I am definitely less of a fan of his then I was before he dogged the sister the first time and then is doing it know. To be frank one of the things he did that I disaproved of most was the way he taunted Valuev leading up to the fight with the cartoon Mock Press conference. That was some childish ****. I think he learned his lesson leading up to the Ruiz fight. Also his talk about only having a few more fights before he retires does do him much in my books either. Cause honestly how are you supposed to get behind a guy who is going to be gone in a year or two? Anyways, all and all I would say that I used to be a big fan of his but know I'm just an interested supporter. So if he doesn't want to fight the Klits fair enough your life buddy. But I'd be able to get behind him a lot more if he did.
I'll give you a pass because you live in SLC, Utah like me. However, he didn't say they were in discussions with Harrison. He said they were in discussions with Wlad. All he said was don't rule out a fight with Harrison/Toney etc. He's mentioning these other fighters to get a better negotiating position with Wlad. OK I'll make a deal with you. If Haye ends up fighting Audley I'll run 3 laps around The Gateway in my underpants.
Why doesn't Haye make a counter-offer with terms that are agreeable to him. Haye has just disappeared and he simply seems to have lost all interest in the Klits. I keep hearing the Klits "have to make a better offer". At this stage this is not about offers, it's about mere willingness to fight. And Haye has not expressed ANY WILLINGNESS to get a fight with the Klits done whatsoever.
No I wasn't lying, or making it up. There are several sources if you check Google news that mention the possibility of a Harrison fight. And I don't believe they are just throwing his name out there either. Wlad has already said he was willing to go 50/50 if need be (which is MUCH more than Haye deserves, imo)....and if Wlad's offer was bad, you can bet Haye would have been screaming it from the rooftops. So again, I don't think the offer itself is the problem. Haye said he was "tired", and wanted to spend time with his family....to me that's an excuse to avoid the fight for another day.
Agreed. Haye hasn't publicly said anything about the offer, because it was most likely a VERY GOOD OFFER, which he would look foolish complaining about. So instead he just goes quite.
Haye should fight Wlad now after all what happened. To be honest I understand Haye though... he can make a lot of money fighting some contenders with little risk and then fight Wlad in like 2 years, where Wlad is probably past his peak and an easier fight for Haye. Right now it's a big risk fight, where he is an clear underdog.
Too those that risk the most the rewards are greatest. I 100% understand the Floyd mayweather dictum of getting the most for the least but the other way of looking at it would be to say that if Haye went out took the fight he would be taking the fight when it is hotest. He probably could get a pretty decent deal know too seen as the only person either Klitchko ever talks about is David Haye. And if he beat Wlad he would be a far bigger start then he is know. And the same run of the mill bums would still be around afterwards. Only if he took this path to the easier money then he would get paid like twice as much money for these fights as he would now.
I was a Haye fan. I stopped buying his camp's excuses a few weeks ago, he has let another opportunity to unify the titles against Wladimir pass again and is doing more harm than good in the division now
Dan Rafael of ESPN has stated that Haye was offered 50/50, with no options. That's an INCREDIBLE offer. It ain't going to get better than that. Ever.
If that's true and Haye doesn't accept, I get the feeling he's going to lose a lot of long-time fans.
