on david hayes new adventure into the heavyweight division who do you think would be a suitable opponent for his first fight:roll:
I'd like to see a guy like Hasim Rahman or Calvin Brock myself... solid but beatable. It would help measure where he's at in the heavy's without posing too much risk. With a victory he would have a pretty decent name on his ledger and would make a good statement, lining up a fairly earned title shot in another fight or two.
it would be good to see him in the U.S. danny was there and ground out a dicision and audley deflated a bum the next week. haye has to make a show for himself. he is the biggest name next to calzaghe and hatton in british boxing and in some cases beats both of them....london know alot about him. it would be sweet for a british heavy to be on B.A.D or a decent undercard. i persoanlly think he should fight a bum or at least a fringe contender get an asured ko so he can fight bigger names and show hisa power has carried
Brock may be too much of a jump. I would say someone along the lines of Monte Barrett. If he gets past him, then maybe someone like McCline to see how he matches up against a bigger guy.
If he is as spectacular as he says, he should have no problem fighting Virchis or Ibragimov for his first fight at HW. But I'm sure he's looking to fight a decrepit stationary target and then go on about how he is the saviour for another 6 months before facing someone with a detectable heartbeat.
I think a British heavyweight like Danny Williams or Audley Harrison would be a good start, or perhaps an American veteran like Hasim Rahman, Shannon Briggs or Ray Austin.
Michael Sprott, Danny Williams, Hasim Rahman, Oliver McCall, Lance Whitaker, Calvin Brock, Damien Willis All good choices.
I see people keep mentioning Rahman. I don't think British fight fans want to see another one of their HW's end up like this [YT]ABZu5v2JPuE[/YT]
Really doubt Iggy will get another shot at a belt without getting a couple of wins over legitimate fighters first. I'm sure Klitschko is pushing for unification with the winner of that bout anyway.
