David Haye fought the perfect fight for himself THE GREEDY SURVIVAL PLAN.. I dont believe he EVER intended to win but to survive. The plan was to cause as much hype as possible, generate the most money, fight and survive the 12 rounds without getting KO'd, and then **** off with his retirement fund. He is a con man, and they should never give that clown a re-match. I never bought into it, I had money on vlad by KO and Im gutted he never managed to do it. If you watch the end of the fight, adam booth was smiling away, didnt look to me like he was upset about losing the fight. Like i said, haye and booths whole gameplan was to survive the 12 rounds with as least damage as possible. It seems obvious to me.
I think he really tried to win, wlad was just better, He did con himself into a lot of money, I wonder how much he made in those 3 fights with valuev, harrison, wlad
Isn't a coincidence that all of Wlad's opponents in the last 5 years have only turned uo for a pay cheque . . . . . . . . NO. Wlad fought a great fight and almost completely nullified Haye's offensive threat, reducing him to wild lunging punches in desparation. Every fighter thinks they know what to do to beat Wlad until they get in the ring and find out it's a lot harder than they thought. There seems to be a lot of anger following this fight from people who bought into Haye's hype and trash talk instead of looking at how they fight would realistically turn out.
To be fair to him, having stepped us cruiser champion he was as credible a challenger for Valuev's title as anyone else. The Harrison fight was an absolute farce. A joke of a fight which should never have been allowed to happen. Then Haye used his name, mouth and title to lure Wlad in to a huge superfight and career high payday at a time when Wlad really didn't have too many other credible options.
Hahaha, look at the knee jerkers who clearly bought into the hype. If that fight wasn't exactly what you was expecting then you're fools
yes totally..whats the point of a re-match? the main reason people wanted to see it was because of all the hype and insults..now that vlad has beaten him easily, there couldnt be any hype for a re-match because no-one would listen to haye's **** this time!! he should just retire now. As for a perfect con job, haye and booth did a good job in fooling at least 75% of the public. I mean, this is the same david haye who gave fraudley a shot at the title, and then didnt throw a punch untill the pre-arranged third round. Pathetic!
bs... he couldve taken a dive if he just wanted to cash out without getting hurt but he didn't. going the distance with wlad is an accomplishment in itself and he ate some solid shots along the way. I think it was a courageous performance by Haye, nth to be ashamed of (apart from the toe-thing maybe).
haye wouldnt take a dive, his ego wouldnt allow it. Train to survive for 12 rounds, dont take many shots because you are running for 99% of the time, and get out with some pride and looks intact. theres no way haye would take a dive, but he is def the type to do as little as possible in order to survive, and that was clearly the plan. Watch the herbie hide and riddick bowe fight, blown up british cruiserweight v massive heavyweight. Diff is, herbie tried to fight, and got battered and knocked down 5 times and kept getting up. Believe me, if haye had taken a dive he couldnt show his face in england again, and would be ridiculed far more than he already is, and trust me, his ego couldnt cope with that.
I thought Haye did very well not to get KO'd. Give him some credit. The pre-fight trash talk was tongue in cheek and I really enjoyed it, it gave the fight some hype and created a great atmosphere. And then obviously people expected too much due to too much build up.
So standing within punching range of Wlad with your hands down by your waist and your chin sticking out is trying to survive? All you're doing with this thread is detracting from the things Wlad did well, i.e completely nullifying Haye's threat.
Yeah I have no problem with it, especially considering how thin the division is. I meant if he fought wlad or vitali in 2008/9 then he would have gotten way less money, instead he won a belt hyped the fight up as hell and 2 years later cashed in, if he had won it would be even better, haye did very well in promoting this fight the last few years, eventhough it sucks for boxingfans because you have to wait years for a fight to happen.
I dont buy that. So his ego wouldnt allow him to take a dive but to run away like a little girl (as you imply, I didn't have the impression that all he did was running)? He couldve faked an injury, provoked a dq, there are so many ways to get out of a fight while somewhat saving face and without taking too much punishment... If that was his mindset, why would he go 12 rounds with one of the hardest punching hws and risk to eat damaging shots?
no, vlad fought his normal methodical and effective fight, Like i said I had money on vlad to win, and i think he is total class inside and out of the ring, its one thing standing with your hands by your waist with an unprotected chin if you are well out of range. Haye refused to engage in a fight and was on the back foot all the time> I have just now heard him live on british radio being interviewed and sounds happy and chirpy, was going on about how much money the fight generated and that vlad should look at his payday and think about giving him a rematch. Hes a joke!!
and stand in range with his hands by his waist and his chin in the air. Apparently that's what you do when you're trying to survive
