I don't actually know what fight you was watching. Haye was within Wlad's range pretty much all night.
within vlads range? you have to be joking. vlad could hardly catch up wth him to land a clean punch, and anytime vlad got near or in a clinch he fell on the floor. it was like watching a roadrunner cartoon. i clearly remember haye banging on and on pre-fight about a "brutal execution" in the ring, that to me indicates an intention to engage in a fight, a war, and then after the fight he explains that it was due to a broken toe? it didnt affect his footwork though, because he ran more than I have ever seen him, apart from the valuev fight.
Yes in his range, he stood in Wlad's range with his hands down and chin out and used head movement to slip punches. Defensively Haye was actually surprisingly good, better than expected. However, Wlad cuts the ring off so well and applies so much pressure that his opponents struggle to get any offence going. When Haye did try something all he could do was leap in on Wlad with lunging shots. Against a man as defensively sound as Wlad you have to do better than. You're view of the fight seems awfully skewed. Haye fought no worse than most of Wlad's recent opponents, he was able to make him miss with his head movement and he also landed a few good shots and marked him up a bit. However, Wlad was too good, big and strong for Wlad and he put in another dominant performance. That's an objective analysis of the fights. Your seems to be related to what was said before the fight and what you was expecting to happen.
if you are going to germany, to fight vlad, and you truly believe you are going to win, and not con the public, you dont dodge punches with "great head movement" and dont engage in a fight. I mean what did he think? the judges were going to award the victory based on punches slipped!! if you think that was a good performance you are mad. I think even derek chisora would have put up more of a fight, at least he would have been carried out on his shield. its ridiculous to suggest that hayes performance was anything other than an exercise in survival.
"haye fought perfect fight! " It wasn't quite as "perfect" as his fight with Valuev. With Wlad, the Princess forgot himself for a moment and actually went on the attack. One time, anyway. (g)
Everyone says: None of Wlad's opponent tries to win, they are just there for the pay check" Have you ever thought about.. That maybe.. And just maybe.. It is alot tougher to be comptetive with Wlad than it looks..
The upside to this kinda disappointing fight (I guess to be fair I'll have to add it was disappointing from both fighters) is that Wlad's previous opponents won't be labeled "bums who didn't even try to win" as often anymore.
not a bad trick step into the ring with the 6ft 7 world heavyweight champion who's been promising to make u his 50th KO for two years then ensure he hardly touches u and then when he does hit u with his hardest punches just smile in his face!! yeah someone needs to teach me that con...
Your actually a very good poster when your not cracking Gayvid Gaye or Pizza face jokes (even though you were being sarcastic at those times).
