I fully understand it. In fact, I predicted this a while back in the British Forum and everyone said I was trolling, "Haye will definitely go for them as soon as Ruiz is out of the way".....same guys are now taking your apologist attitude now, burying their heads in the sand with their "need a tune up" talk because they realise the boxer they so vehemently defended is actually what most initially thought of him, a fraud.
But if he fights him in time he's not a fraud dude, just smart. Even Haye biggest fans know it's a tall order, why risk a potential £15 million over two years extra? Again this is all based on wether he fights him or not. If he doesn't I'll be the first calling him a ducking coward, but until then I'm kepping my trap shut. If Haye does adventually fight Wlad win or lose I'll be going through this place like a ****ing hurricane
I expect him to fight Wlad. I'm criticising him because I don't think he has any intention of fighting them soon. I have said all that needs to be said about it. Just going around in circles now. Haye fighting Wlad in 18 months is nothing to sing and dance and play the "told you so" game. It will be a win/win retirement pay day if he loses. In the off chance he wins, he will have a decent legacy. There is nothing honourable or brave about that. It is simply cheating fans for years and then finally cashing out, and anything could happen between now and then, either could lose before it happens.
Truth is you cant predict future earnings part of Hayes success is the hype that he wants to fight the best The ruiz ppv # have not actually been released have they? ,, you really think Valuev 2 or meehan or chagaev are going to pull in good numbers did Ruiz even pull in as good of numbers as valuev... What were the numbers against barrett?.... no people are going to want him to step up he made his name calling them out if he keeps on avoiding them the hype is going to keep on falling most of the rest of the world have seen through his bul****, Even some of the UK are starting to you think two more years of fighting bums is going to keep the hype alive?
That's not really our (the boxing fans) problem is it? It's a level playing field for all boxers. He loses he loses, tough sh**. I wouldn't attack Haye if he didn't promise us a land of milk and honey for over two years now. "Exciting fights, unification bouts, big events, best possible opponents." Where is all that? Instead he's now talking about resting & retiring. What a scam! I tell you ever since he ran from the Klits and won the WBA belt it is very obvious Haye slowly abandoned his idea of writing boxing history and delivering the best possible high risk fights for our entertainment as he now embraced the idea of financial safety and risk control. Good for him. Bad for us. Haye with his inactivity in the ring and his preference for low-risk opponents is quickly turning into a cancer for the HW division. The sooner he retires or gets handed his first HW loss the better for all of us.
true is was on sky i think ? still it wouldnt of done great numbers he couldnt even sell out the areana.
Haye - Barrett was on Setanta. The station finally went bankrupt a couple of weeks before the Wlad - Haye bout was supposed to take place, roughly 7 months after the Barrett fight. I think that's when Haye started working with Sky.
Lol yeah i meant Sentana not sky atsch But yeah my point still stands what numbers would that fight of have done considering they had to give away 2 for 1 upper bowl and still didnt sell out.
As a businessman Haye is right to NOT fight K2 atm. But as a fighter he IS DUCKING WLAD AND VITALY. No questions about it. It wouldn't so bad (a new HW, he does need time so I understand him) if Haye didn't run his mouth saying Wlad is ducking him and he's going to KO both brothers and all the **** he's talk in past 2 years.
Yeah, Haye's history clearly proves that he has no intention of unifying the titles and is content to be a belt-holder. atsch
So, now Haye fans are saying that Haye is being a smart businessman. He is deliberately avoiding Wlad, so that he can keep making money as a paper champ. Then, when he is ready to retire, he will get into the ring with Wlad - have the living **** stomped out of him - then retire. They sound proud of Haye's plan. Only.... weren't they bleating about how good Haye would be for the division? How is avoiding the best fighters good for the division? How is fighting the same old trash while riding the WBA's merry-go-round of lameness good for the division? How is promising to fight and then running away good for the division? People say that the Klits are bad for boxing. I disagree, but whatever. When those same people turn around and say that this chicken**** ****face called Haye is good for the division? I just put them on my ignore list.
utter nonsense, haye is a misunderstood fighter due to his cockiness, but this is one of the worst threads of all time. haye has taken many risks in his career, a hardcore fight fan's fighter beating mormeck in francis, macca on a warren show, stopping gurov and fragomeni (recent WBC champ) before he even landed a world title shot. his career was in bad shape due to the collapse of setanta. most of his money for the wlad fight was coming from setanta. haye's career is back on track, he has sold 800,000 PPVs for the valuev fight and scored an impressive stoppage in his first defense. he has a title and he has more to negotiate with. i would wait until negotiations start before being so certain the fight won't happen. perhaps wlad ducked lewis, holyfield, bowe and tyson?
wrong. haye could make tons more money fighting wlad. the money from HBO, german TV and UK PPV will be enormous. a heavyweight superfight we've not seen in many years. haye has ambition, wants the big prizes and i'm sure would revel in the big stage. the WBA title defenses are not attractive. haye will go for the meaningful fights, but i think he would prefer vitali than wlad. there are some very sad internet whiners on here. imagine if you were around on message boards when wlad was on the way up. perhaps you would have been hard on him for not stepping up to fight the big names. and there were some big ones - lewis, holyfield, tyson, bowe.
