Haye hasn't learnt, has he?

    I don't think he's going to be anything more than a WBA world champion because he simply hasn't learnt his lesson from his first defeat, and that is to take his time and let the knockout come on his own. If he's going in there looking for the knockout against Valuev, and especially against Klitschko's, he's going to burn out in the first 4 rounds and he's going to be either outpointed or knocked out. He almost did it against Monty Barrett, and I think if he gets a live one in there, especially one as accurate as Klitschko, he has no chance of winning if he doesn't stay patient and work behind his jab, and he has a real good jab. He can't just go out throwing in the heavyweight division, that's the main issue he has. It's why he will never be as big as Lewis, because Lewis was patient and was very defensive minded and was a brilliant counter-attacker. Haye isn't that, and at least Tyson was able to come forward with a jab, bobbing and weaving before trying to ice his opponent.

    I just think its a very bad move, even if he does come past Valuev which I guess he will because he's just not active enough to do anything against Haye I feel, but he won't have a good chance against the Klitschko's if he's just relying on brute force, especially if Wladamir's learnt HIS lesson from his losses.

    I'd like to see Haye work with some people who really understand the technical/tactical side of the game, not just how to get a fighter in shape.

    We wont know till we see what he does on the night
    If he's gonna do what you reckon its not gonna do him any favours long term.
    At this level though I would imagine he will have a good game plan and him and
    his team will be prepared there is a lot at stake.

    Thing is he really doesn't seem to have a team. He just has Adam Booth, and he's a crock of ****. That and he says he's going in to knock out the Klitschko's and Valuev. And Monty Barrett, and he didn't exactly clean him out in record time.

    i seriously doubt hes going to go looing for the knockout, just usual hype talk from haye, gets you talking though lol

    Explain that please.

    And Haye has learn't - watch his fight with Mormeck, he and Booth devised a plan for that fight which worked. He was a bit gung-ho against Barrett, but then he had him hurt very early and just wanted to finish the job - he certainly didn't gas like he did against Thompson.

    I dunno though Neil, the correct tactics will be stick and move, but Haye has stamina issues IMO, he never goes the distance, he always looks for the KO.

    Maybe the sheer size of the heavies will change his approach but he is a very attack minded fighter


    I have my doubts about whether he'll be able to execute a smart plan or whether he'll start slugging it out

    I agree with this.

    Haye is a balls to the wall, kill or be killed puncher. That is not to say he doesn't have skills - of course he does.... fast hands, good upper body movement etc.

    His main weakness for me is his stamina, he looked ****ed after five with Barrett.... in the early rounds he can protect his chin using movement, but once he starts slowing down and getting caught more often it could well be lights out.

    I think he beats this guy though.... as for the Klitschkos, I will stick my neck out after their next fights.

    There's nothing wrong with being WBA champion in this era. With the V and W Klitschko's holding the others, what else could Haye do?

    He's delivered on his words in the ring to date, he needs this big fight because he has been inactive for a while now.

    Don't knock the guy.
