    Brewster was too stationary imo.

Haye cant afford to take that kind of heat, so he will have to offset him with more movement, and punch off the angles his head movement creates.

Haye should just keep in his mind .....DEFENCE to create offence.

Haye can afford to get hit, he just cant afford to get hit flush, if he rolls with punches and be's smart he can last long enough to captalise.

Haye has very good reflexes, i think he may just get through the jab and has speed wlad hasnt faced before. He's a lot faster than he looks on TV all his opponents say so

Funny, every Wlad opponent says that Wlad is a lot faster in the ring than he appears.

I'm reading several posts on this thread and just laughing. It appears that maybe Mr. Haye is starting to realize what he has gotten himself into. I wonder if perhaps his big slow sparring partners are giving him fits, and perhaps at the same time telling him that they are nothing compared to Wladimir. Reality is a very bitter pill to swallow.

I for one don't expect Haye to do anything different than what he regularly does. He knows changing this style would be detrimental at this point. If he thinks he is going to pitty patter his way to a victory by running in and running out of Wlads range, that is not going to happen. If he squares up against the bigger man and tries to manhandle him, the straight right will make short work of him. It's a bad fight for David Haye. He should have stayed a cruiser.

There has been a decided de-escalation in Haye's recent remarks as compared with his early bravado. Maybe it was the press conferences they did together, and realizing just how big Wlad really is. I'm not sure, but it definitely seems as though Haye is starting to fully appreciate what he's up against.

I have a copy of the interview that is transcribed here on video, I think (I think the quotes come from this video). Here it is:

    [yt]<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2tE2O-MuY1w&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2tE2O-MuY1w&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>[/yt]

I think Haye has around a 10% chance, maximum, to win this fight. He likely knows this better than anyone and it is important for his continued marketability to be able to tamper down the expectations. Hence, "I'll do my best" vs "I'm going to KO Wlad," etc.

If David takes down the expectations a bit, his fanbase won't be so disappointed when he is KO'd in a few weeks. He knows this, and he is gradually walking his fans towards that possibility so that he doesn't look like a joke when and if he loses. This is all simple marketing. David and his handlers aren't dumb. He doesn't want to fall off the face of the HW earth if he loses, much as what happened to Hide after Vitali crushed him.

In a promotional vid on Setanta just now Haye looks very big, his legs look much bigger, i would say about 230lbs min. I would say come fight night he will be 220-222lbs.

Wlad's opponents usually say after the fight that he is a lot faster than they thought. It's all optical illusions, a tall fighter looks slower than he really is because the eye cannot measure absolute speed, only relative to body size or environment.

There are different kinds of speed. McCline probably has faster hands for combination punching than Haye and it was of no use against Wlad. Haye has good speed but wild movement which may not be that effective against a bigger fighter.

At 0:24 or so, he says "I'm going to go out and be the best I can be." Not the exact quote I mentioned above, but very similar. Again, that is versus "I'm going to KO him," etc. Much more toned down than Haye's earlier rhetoric.

It's definitely the video that was used for the article. Here's the quote from the first post:

"I'm just going to go out there and be the best I can be"

That's what Haye says at 0:24 or so. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about with where the article came from. I just wrote the wrong quote down.

his reflexes will kill Wlads jab, plus Wlad's brings his punches back to slow, if (when) Haye gets in punching distance, he will land a bomb square on Wlads face, i honestly dont think Wlad will last 3 rounds with Haye, no bull****

He did this in the lead up to the Barrett fight though, he said he could well get knocked out and look a tit, he realises anything can happen in a fight. Gotta remember he says alot of stuff to promote the fight, he's not stupid.

He is still very confident whichever way you look at it, and he analyses opponents strengths and weaknesses superbly, his last few fights he has fought with a different style everytime according to who he's facing.

Most of you guys haven't followed Haye much before now, eh?

You should know that his current attitude -- talking about the fight seriously and going over more technical aspects rather than swaggering around gloating -- is actually more true to his core personality than the way he acted to get the fight signed. The trash talking was mostly to get attention, and it worked perfectly; now that it's a done deal, Haye no longer has any need to keep it up. He always knew it wasn't going to be easy to deal with Wlad, and only now can he let himself admit this in public. I'd be worried if he wasn't cautious.
