I understand:good BUT, while maybe it hasnt been in a fight yet... 2 things he has been working very very hard on... uppercut... check hook..... and he has been KILLING sparring partners with both
Do you think that Haye pulled out if the first fight because: a) He was scared b) His contracted TV company had already defaulted on several payments to the premier league and could not afford to pay him - so he choose not to fight for free
Setanta was leveled with the ground, doesn't mean Haye couldn't get on another contract, which he did. Haye holds a title that Chagaev took off Valuev, whom in turn got stopped by Wladimir. And yet, Haye is making serious money off of that title. He's fond of it, he's fond of the economical benefits that its brought him, and he's most likely hoping RJJ beats Lebedev so he can give him a shot.
I doubt Wlad would throw an effective check hook. Wlad needs to be planted to throw punches. But, his regular hook is enough to get the job done if he times it right. Wlad's attempts at uppercutting have thus far been laughable. As for Haye's plan, it will be to stay far away, and circle a lot, again, because Wlad can't throw punches unless he's planted. Haye will have to get around the illegal stiff arm that Wlad will undoubtedly be using and throw a few hard shots, then get far away again. So sort of pot-shotting, but with power. Then if he one of them hurts Wald, go for the kill. It's a risky proposition, but it's the only way Haye can win. Haye is just as chinny as Wlad, and he's a lot smaller too. He can't stand in range, and he can't allow himself to be clinched as his stamina is not all that great to be carrying 250lb on his back all night. (also, it's gonna be Vitali, in which case Haye doesn't even have that slim punchers chance)
Why do you think he asked for a postponement? Yes, to try and get a TV deal. He asked for a few weeks (which is unrealistic) and Wlad understandably said no. It's a bit hard to shop around for a Tv deal a few weeks out while you're supposed to be training for the toughest fight of your life. Sky aint going to put Haye - who was not that well known at the time - on PPV with a few weeks notice with barely any time to hype the fight. Come on man , use your brain. I dunno what that has to do with my question
Well then you're dumber than I thought Haye hurt his handback as much as Wlad hurt his golf-immune-abdominal-muscle.
This thread is almost as good as when The Kurgan made up a quote about Pavlik stating that he was more skilled than Floyd Mayweather Jr.
As for the Wlad throwing a check hook remark... This content is protected Also... Peter didn't seem to laugh at this uppercut... This content is protected
Hold on - that's just a left hook with his shoulders leaning back slighty. His feet are planted and do not move at all
