Hey, could be worse, he could be fighting someone like Couser.

I have no problem with this and don't hold him up to some ridiculous standard like he has to fight a top name immediately after moving up to a division. Hell, titlist or no, even Pacquiao didn't fight a top ten lightweight in his first fight.

 

David is a heavyweight ATG in his own lunchbreak.... He has a great imagination... If he faced a motivated Barrett he may just get a shock..

 

... or Tye Fields.

Totally discounting the talking Haye has been doing, this is a very good fight for him.

Barrett is a decent fighter and not easy to beat.

 

Makes perfect sense. Fight Barrett, then former world champion whether it be Rahman or Maskaev. Then Klitchko around 16-20 months from now.

 

To be fair, a lot of the top heavies are unavailable atm. I mean Wlad has Thompson to fight and then Povetkin after, Peter has Quitali soon. Chagaev is injured, Povetkin is fighting Taurus Sykes apparently, Valuev will probably fight Ruiz soon, Virchis is fighting Gomez, Rahman is fighting Toney. That's 12 names out of the equation.

 

If this happens Haye is a joke.

He has been talking non stop about how he would KO Wlad, Peter, etc. and how he will be fighting a legit top 10 Heavyweight etc.
