The simple fact is that no one's going to know for sure how badly the shoulder injury and inactivity has affected him until he gets in there with a serious opponent and has to go into deep water. Bellew is probably not that opponent.
David Haye won't know for sure until that time comes either. I don't think he plans on a proper test unless it's a big-money - huge-money ! - fight with Anthony Joshua.
He would have been completely recovered from the injury by now especially with a vegan diet.. Vegan is like Box.. meat like Slug.. as long box is in there it's an excellent diet.. as everything is made out of the same atoms..
Alkaline effecting foods counter balance the acid foods.. acids burns/takes apart.. alkaline neutralises (and burns too in the Lye direction) Vegans don't eat any acids (dairy etc).. so they don't get that problem..
Tbf the whole division appears to have that same attitude. Unsure why haye gets called out for that alone. I d imagine he d pretty much fight anyone on joshuas resume. Same for wilders. Same for parker. Same for browne. Same for ruiz. Same for ortiz pretty much most of them. I tend to disagree anyway. Pretty much think hayes up for a risk bearing in mind the position hes in without a proper promoter etc. Pretty much has to take a risk because no ones gonna give him the oppertunity unless its for big money or a belt. He has neither atm. Its been a case of him seeing what his fights generate moneywise...then going to an opponent and offering them what he can afford. Bearing in mind hes one of if not the hardest puncher in the division...people dont want to take the short money. Hence the reason hes got to take what he can get atm. Bellews actually been a godsend for him because otherwise it would have probably been another poor opponent for the reasons mentioned above. The blame for david lies at the door of wanting to be his own promoter. The rest of the blame lies with boxing politics.
Haye's underestimating Bellew's defence and power.. Bellew called himself the bomber in the beginning usually connected to reality.. he was sparking some people..
Half of whatever he has now in the bank and property is going to his ex wife. Add to that the fact he is probably 1-2 years behind on his taxes. Has lost money on bad investments in his retirement. Yep, Haye is back for one reason and one reason only. Cash
Taking nothing away from Bellew here, he's hit some form, bagged a world title so good luck to him. But in all seriousness, he went 12 rounds with a pumped up Light Heavy in Cleverly who couldn't carry the weight in a stinker of a fight. Makabu is/was made out to be this 'killer' but who had this 'monster' actually beat? BJ Flores, nothing even needs to be said there.. but as in most cases most newly crowned world champs like to get a first defence behind them and Flores fitted the bill. The fight also helped build the Haye fight. He isn't sparking Sideshow Bob.
Folk always go on about Hayes power but in reality does he hit that hard? As an heavyweight there's lads out there that no doubt punch harder but yet folk say he's one of the hardest punches in the division.. he wasn't that hard a puncher at cruiser, but now he's dubbed as one of the heaviest hitters in the HW division.... As they say, looks can be deceiving.. especially when your knocking out the likes of audley and Derek....lol
If Haye is still anything like he used to be then he can most defiantly KO Joshua (he will easily beat Bellew regardless). Lets put it this way, AJ got let off the hook by Whyte but if Haye hurts him like that then he would finish the job.
Wasn't that hard a puncher at cruiser? How many people have knocked out delboy? Guy is tough... Of his wins virtually all of them are by KO...
