Someone high up in hayes camp told me that Klitsckos would do crazy things in negotiations.

stuff like guaranteeing a 70-30 split........but of a maximum amount of money that was really low like $3million or they would tell Booth they were going to make a certain offer which Booth would agree to verbally and then the fax comes through and its completely different.

The contract Haye signed he was only getting training expenses and a 50-50 split of UK tv money. The back injury was genuine and he backed it up with medical evidence.

he says nothing much has changed since the started talking again.

Haye also has a contract which says he is not allowed to discuss any negotiations.

I thought this may be of interest, maybe doesn't deserve it's own thread. Use google translate on http://www.sportal.de/sportal/generated/article/boxen/2010/06/18/16986800000.html, this is Kalle Sauerland manager at Sauerland Event, the current co-promoter of Haye. In his own words, from June 18:

Question: You also have a stake in David Haye. What's new with him?
Kalle Sauerland: David is keen on fighting one of the Klitschko brothers. But the devil lies in the financial details. There are multiple parties with a financial interest/stake in Haye's fights, we're just one of those parties. Haye has become a national superstar in the UK and thus the conditions have changed. Haye earns as much money in the UK as the Klitschkos earn in Germany, therefore that makes reaching a deal much more difficult. We have to insist on a sensible financial agreement.

Question: K2's Bernd Bönte was on record recently that the disagreement was not based on the financials but on other issues.
Kalle Sauerland: We disagree with that notion. Haye wanted to box for the title immediately, he wants the big fights immediately. He knows about his talent and potential, he was the undisputed cruiserweight champion. So far there has been a disagreement regarding the financial issues. Haye is ready to fight any time.

Sounds to me like it's not easy to reach a deal with Haye/Sky/Golden Boy/Sauerland involved and everybody wanting different opponents for Haye and a part of the pot.

He's only got two fights left before he retires, according to his own plans to retire at the end of next year.

Haye might have lost his edge as a boxer and possibly a desire to fight altogether with his newly attained celebrity status in the UK. All of a sudden he's got so much to lose and with this fear creeping in he can't even start thinking of having a decent match-up. I think he should re-schedule his retirement deadline to this year and keep his "undefeated HW king" status on the island north of France. Everybody wins!!!

Its still amazing how full of **** this guy really is. I mean, non stop totall bull**** spewing out of his mouth constantly. Equally amazing is the fact that Haye actually still has fans. Very passionate fans, at that. Unreal. What a loser.

I mean as a human being, not as a boxer, obviously. Nothin but bull**** and hype coming out of his mouth. Not much substance to the guy at all it seems. Just read the original interview in this thread.
