I think the big problem for Haye is taking Wlads shots in order to get his off.

Going on previous form (for Haye) all of the people who have been able to hurt Wlad have been better placed to take a shot or two. Hopefully this "previous form" is down to one of two things.

    1. Due to cutting weight.
    2. He's just the kind of guy who can be knocked down, but not out.

I'm hoping it's one of them. I'd love to see him taking a shot or two and then landing some bombs himself.

This is really sad, but I had a dream that Haye sparked Wlad out a la Monte Barrett vs Ty Fields style. I had a big grin when I woke up.

I'm looking forward to this fight more than the Hatton Pacman fight!

Its coming around quick though, only 5 weeks left until Haye sparks the big man :yep

@Flint, you should of kept your prediction the same, speed kills and Haye will smash Wlad to pieces :deal

I totally agree with the guy that posted this thread. People seem to be under-estimating Wlad. Haye is an exciting guy with skills but he has no record at Heavy and he'll be giving away at least 2 stone in weight. Wlad has operated against the best and most dangerous that the heavy division has had to offer over the last 10 years, wereas Haye has beaten Bonin and was dropped against a journeyman in Barret before stopping him.
Haye has done a great job in promoting this fight but getting past the Wlad Jab will be a totally different situation ..
Wlad is like Lewis .. He's been ko'd a few times and that has led him to an ultra cautious approach to boxing, he will throw the jab a hundred times a round hoping to score enough points to win the fight, he wont take any chances so its whether Haye has the attacking skills to get past that jab and make Wlad fight, im not sure he can do it..
a '92, '93 Holyfield would do it no question, but is Haye really good enough to beat Wlad ??
Beating Enzo Mac and Mormeck will not prepare you to beat a 'point scoring',ultra cautious guy like Wlad ..
I hope Haye wins because the Heavys will be energised but Wlad is better than people give him credit for ..

Michael Spinks is such a tragic case in boxing .. A capable heavyweight, and one of the best light heavys of all time but people will always remember him for that weak willed, yellow belly performance against Tyson ..
This week ive heard Ricky Hatton being called 'an embarrassment', 'a joke' and a 'bum' for being beaten by Pac, but if you want to see a real embarrassment you need to see Spinks against Tyson. It was incredible how an all-time great was so mentally weak he disintegrated on his way to the ring ..
One of the saddest sights ive ever witnessed in boxing, Spinks (a great fighter) totally petrified by the thought of facing Tyson ..

read your posts and there mostly bang on but calling spinks weak willed and yellow belly for gettig flattened by a devastating right upercut from THE most awesome puncher the HW division has ever seen is a bit harsh

Im a huge Spinks fan, he is for me in the top 3 greatest LH's of all time, a brilliant technical fighter. For me he won the first Holmes fight but clearly lost the second fight. I am in no way denigrating Spinks but that performance against Tyson was a joke ..
Watch Spinks walking to the ring, watch him while the announcements are being made and then when the opening bell rings, keep your eyes on Spinks. He is like a rabbit caught in the headlights, theres no gameplan and his only thoughts are to not get hurt and to defend as much as possible. A quality fighter should not be caught with those Tyson shots in the 1st round and we all know what a great fighter Spinks was.
Holyfield would never be in that ultra defensive position to be caught with them shots.
Spinks was spooked by the aura of Tyson and it was such a sad thing that a great like Spinks felt that way and folded like he did.
As ive said, im a huge fan of Spinks which is why its such a sad thing that he'll be remembered like that .. Spinks took the huge money on offer and folded as fast as he could.
Respected boxing journalists and historians like Bert Sugar for one, picked Spinks to win that fight .. That shouldnt have been a 1 round demolition ..

At the risk of sounding pompus, anyone who knows their boxing history remembers Spinks as one of the greatest 175lbers of all time who also happened to be a half decent Heavyweight.

For me Haye needs to try not trying to hard to land his big shots early on and gas out in the mid and late rounds if it gets that far. Also if he ducks or slips Wlad's jab Haye will try landing the left hook and if he misses he needs to watch out for that straight right counter which I have seen him open to when Haye goes for his hooks, that right is like a hammer.

I would agree with you in part. By the the time Holyfield got to Tyson, Tyson had weathered and rusted, his shoulder-roll had gone, but for me Evander Holyfield would have given any version of Tyson nightmares .. The 80's Tyson never took on a guy like Holyfield.
Holyfield was ultra confident taking on anybody, he was a more natural fighter than Tyson in that he could mentally take a few shots and still stick to his gameplan. Tyson was brilliant when he was on top but he never liked taking a shot, he was never tested under pressure partly because he was so good that no fighter could put him under pressure.
Holyfield would never have been scared of Tyson, he had that forward rhythm that would have been effective against Tyson, and Tyson didnt represent the kind of physical advantage that Riddick Bowe had against Holy.
Riddick Bowe is vastly under-rated by people, at the point when he fought Holyfield he was a brilliant attacking fighter. Bowe had improved 100% since the olympics '88, he used to throw a left jab and turn it into a left hook, thats a true sign of talent.
Tyson made his name off an old Holmes, a scared Spinks, average heavys like Berbick, Spinks and Thomas .. Tyson's wins over Tucker and Ruddock were impressive but he never had to deal with a '91, '92 Bowe, a late 90s Lewis or a '90 - '94 Holyfield .. I know Tyson got beat by Lewis and Holyfield but people always make the excuse that Tyson wasnt what he was in '87, but for for me an '87 Tyson would still struggle against Bowe, Lewis and Holyfield ..
