:rofl:roflYou just lost all credibility. What would beating Rahman prove???****all.Even the most delusional Klit fans would slate Haye for fighting Rahman. Wlad is now free to fight somebody would be happy to take only a few $100,000.That is a fair reflection on his recent opposition
No, I would rather like to see Haye-Wlad. But again as Haye has made unreasonal ble demands and does not seem to understand the position, Wlad will now probably face Areola. Then let's make Haye-Toney then, that is a good fight and could be an eliminator. Problem, Haye chose to fight Barett instead of Toney for his first fight. But let's not lose hope.
To me it seems that Waldi still wants that fight, and for good reason - he needs an exciting defense against a credible opponent now, and Haye is that kind of opponent, one out of very, very few at this point. Waldi is even ready to make it happen in London. But not at any price. After all Waldi is the champ, while Haye is not exactly a proven HW contender. Haye should be happy to get that fight, I mean that's close to getting a gift shot at the belts, but instead he's reluctant now - and that after all the talking... to me it seems Haye is walking away from the fight right now, either because all that hype in the UK has got into his head, making him believe he's Lennox Lewis, or because he realized that he's just not ready yet to face Wlad and looks for a way out.
Beating Rahman would have proved more than beating Barett back then. Rahman is 2 time world champ with an oK record. He has faced and beaten better competition than Barett. Actually , he won a shout out against Barett a few years back. In the boring heavyweight division it might have been to get a shot. But like I said, it is irrelevant as Wlad offered Haye a shot but Haye overprized himself. Now, it looks like WLad-Arreola.
In your other post you said that 10 years ago a tilte shot after beating two fighter's in the new weight class was never even heard of. Yet history is filled with champion's stepping up in weight and getting immediate titles shots, and because of this we've seen some great fight's. :good Some of you talk like Haye made his pro debut at heavyweight and has had only two fights. You ingore the fact that the man is a former European cruiserweight champion, former Undisputed World Champion, knocks everyone TFO, Look's the part, and is extremely exciting to watch in a divisiosn that is easily the worst one in boxing. I can't remember anyone complaining when Pacquiao stepped up and had an immediate title shot against Barrera etc etc etc. Haye made it clear that he was the best fighter in his division in the world, like many champions in the past, and is now stepping up. I can bring up **** loads of fights where a fighter steps up in weight, get's an immediate or close ot an immediate title shot and people were over the moon. The problem is that you are ingoring Hayes credentials at cruiserweight. Also, the truth is that Barrett came in in the best shape in years against Haye and is as good as anyone Arrerola has beaten. I think the problem really is jealousy. Haye backs up everyhting he says in the ring, is good looking and would take your head off and then take your GF to bed and ya'll can't stand it, and could'nt do anything about it. :yep
Well said.We both keep stating the same points over and over again but the haye folks here keep insisting on some details which are totally irrelevant.
If he really wants the fight, it will be made. But the talks are suspended right now... We already had the same development for HAye's first fight. Stating he wants to face a belholder, Toney or Rahman but then ...it was a shut Barett. I am losing patience with this guy.
Most (casual) US fans somewhat recognize Wlad, but probably don't know him by name, and have no idea who Haye is. Wlad is golden in Germany, and could sell out any arena there fighting nobody. No one cares about Haye other than some committed boxing fans and brit nut-huggers.
Hard core boxing fan's, the ones that follow this sport with a passion and matter the most care a great deal about David Haye.
This are mostly points I agree with. But, this thread is not about if Haye is deserving of a shot because Wlad actually offered Haye a shot. It is about Haye overprizing himself as his camp seemingly refuses to accept that they are the one who have to concede considerably more during negotiations because: 1. Haye had only one fight at heavyweight against a bum and faced no contenders. Haye is not a HOF like Pacquaoi and only beat Mormeck. 2. Wlad is the champ and not Haye. 3. Haye not is not a big draw outside the UK as he has never fought outside the UK. 4.There is no real pressure from the general (not the UK) media to make this fight as Haye has not beaten any contenders so far. 5. Wlad will just go forward and face Areola and then face Haye in a year or two when Haye is more deserving. Nobody except the haye fans would really care and Wlad would not be blamed for it. It is Haye who loses credibility. 6. Haye was the one screaming for wlad. There is really nothing more to say. This is just so obvious even for haye fans.
It's not like Haye or Waldi are their promoters muppets like so many fighters out there, they both have a say with their respective promotional companies (k2 and Hayemaker) and if they both want the fight it will happen, period. To me it seems like Waldi wants the fight to happen, and he isn't known for making unrealistic or unfair demands. I'm certainly not Waldis biggest fan, but he's not a diva when it comes to match-making. His recent set of opponents may be mediocre, but that has more to do with politics, the boxing organizations and the poor state of the division than with Waldi himself.
It sounds as if a major snag in the fight negotiations was the inexperienced guy that is promoting Haye, Adam Booth, or something. It sounds, at least by the Klit camp's account, as if Booth is not able to handle this level of fight...............He may be just overwhelmed by such a big event and all its intimidating aspects, that he's getting carried away with wanting to make a forture for him and Haye, and he is demanding too much. Maybe now that Haye is on this level, he needs to get a more experienced promoter who knows how to handle big money fights.
I don't think so. This site, which is presumably visited by 'hardcore' boxing fans (both those who are knowledgeable and those who talk out of their asses) is split about 50-50 as far as those who give a **** about Haye.
