There will never be another Evander Holyfied, but that doesn't stop Haye from being considered a damn good fighter.
I think the big question is, can Haye's chin hold up at heavyweight? Sure, he has the power, physique, speed and skill, but no matter how much of these things a fighter has, he's bound to get hit sooner or later. Haye has already been floored in a recent fight, and was stopped earlier in his career. Getting nailed by Klitschko, Povetkin, Peter, or anyone who can punch will test his chin pretty well, and only then will know if he has what it takes.
haye may not be Holyfield. but Klitscko is no Lennox Lewis, Chagaev is no Riddick bowe and Peter is no Mike Tyson... Haye has more than enough ability to beat the heavyweight belt holders. Wlad is the only one id think twice about beating him...
:huh You would think that his punch resistance would improve because he isn't going to be killing himself to make the 200 ilb limit all the time
Haye can never be another Holyfield for one reason, today's Heavys aren't what the 90's were. The 90's had a lot of depth, many of the young contenders then could be champs today. Even if Haye captures all four belts, people will say that Holyfield unfied them in a much more difficult era.
If haye catches wlad flush he would ko him, same as if wlad catches haye flush. This would be a great fight but im afraid wlad would **** himself like he does against any one who can punch and jab, hug his way to a ud
Excactly Wlad has the power to demolish Haye, but he also had the power to demolish Ibragimov... Haye has bottle.
Haye would likely go if hit hard and flush by a decent powered HW. However....He's much faster than all of them. And in a funny way he may even be QUICKER with the extra weight as long as he's in good shape, as there won't be any need to drain himself to remove some before the fight. Next to most HWs he's going to look like peak RJJ - And how many times did he get hit hard and flush in his best years?
I would agree , Holyfield's hands are a lot faster then Haye , he overwhelmed his opponents with fast combos.. but David seem to have more one punch power then Evander ..
To try and compare him to Evander in his prime is pointless, how would we ever know for sure, its all opinion...........but he's a great fighter who could lighten up the HW division and lets face it as a British boxing fan having to watch shite such as Francis,Williams,Harrison,Sprott, and Skelton he could be the breath of fresh air we've been looking for since Lennox.
Frankly who is Evander. Haye is not as good as Holy. But he is more than good enough to make waves in this divison.
Haye is no Holyfield, but he is an exciting & charismatic fighter. Exactley what the heavyweight division needs! :good
