You can't be a serious player in the heavyweight division if you can't take a punch. I don't think Haye has a heavyweight type chin. He was koed by Thompson and dropped hard by Mormeck. In addition, I think he tires later in fights. He maybe able to beat some people at heavyweight, but he is going to lose to some people too.

He should stay at crusier and do something special, like unify all of the belts.

i will give him a chance. he's a good prospect in my eyes. i want to see him in there with legit hws before i make a judgement. blowing away two glass jawed cws in mormeck (who has **** stamina) and enzo doesnt make him a top notch hw.

rahman or virchis would be good choices

i disagree a lot Dave.... but we will see.

I can look past the Thompson loss... for goodness sakes he fought stupid for the first rounds of that fight, and payed for it. He barely had enough energy to throw a punch, let alone stand up to punishment... when he was stopped.

JMM is a hard puncher... and haye got up and stopped him.

He is 6'3'' tall... he will do fine at heavyweight until he fights for a title imo. Im not sure how well he would handle a peter, wlad, valuev, chagaev, but thats why they fight...

i think he can beat ruiz, rock, maskaev, mccline, mesi, toney, golota, White wolf, Briggs, ect... and those are heavyweight contenders

not sure how he does against Chambers, Povetkin, due to not seeing them fight... and sultan, im not sure eather.

The people who doubt Haye's chin need to think about another 'weak chinned' fighter. Miguel Cotto. How many people thought he would get stopped against both Mosley and Judah? A lot. People doubted his chin because at 140lbs it was poor. At 147lbs, has he ever even been hurt?

Haye is too big for cruiser and has to cut far too much weight to be strong there. He has said he felt "dizzy" fighting at that weight, which is seriously scary. If he can feel strong at heavyweight, his chin will improve, no doubt about it.

Chins often improve with age and weight. I'm sure Haye's will too.

Chin's don't improve... they don't get better or worse... there is no way to strengthen your chin. Haye will not be a good HW. I would argue he can't even beat O'Neal Bell, if Bell came out of retirement. Haye can't Arreola, Klitchko, Povetkin, Chagaev, Peter or Toney. If you can't beat those guys, then what is the point?

So because Ali got floored by Cooper but not Shavers, Cooper is the harder hitter of the two? Frazier was down twice against Bonavena, and was tough as nails. Foreman was knocked down in his first career, yet proved he had a iron chin well past his physical prime. Dempsey was only stopped once, early in his career.

I'll carry on if you want. It's obvious chins do improve, just like natural strength and plenty of other natural attributes.

What fight were you watching? Haye was VERY gassed. He completely punched himself out -- you could see it in the way his mouth was hanging open sucking in air, and the way his activity level went from furious to completely weak.

it will be his speed and endurance that will seperate him if he is successful. I think he can take a punch or two but repetitive punching could be an issue. we can only wait and see

he was definetely tired. he was flat-footed and and couldnt fire off more than 1 punch similar to wlad in the 5th round against brewster without the skullduggery :yep

i'll judge his hw chin when he fights hws, not before

3 stoppage losses and two of them by exhaustion in 53 pro fights doesn't make a glass jaw. below average? ok

True . . . he is not a real heavyweight . . . but he'll be very competitive if he tries to fight in the division. His chin? You may have a point but . . . you see fighters who aspire for greatness takes risks . . . and that's commendable.

For me smaller fighters who wins against bigger opponents will always solicit greater accolades and respect than fighters who always wins because of mere physical advantage.

That Wlad/Ruslan fight was a stinker . . . just to give you the best example. :yep
