No question about that. Hayes a model or was. So who knows may be he has to look that way for his photo shoots :yep
If Klitschko had as bad of a chin as some of you people think he has, then his career would have turned out like Michael Bennett. The former Olympian with excellent skills who couldn't take a punch. Klitschko doesn't have the greatest chin ever, but he has a better chin than he is given credit for otherwise he wouldn't be able to win Gold medals, and world titles in boxing! Klitschko also gets hit about a third of the time that Haye does, and especially to the head!
Yeah so what! Wlad doesnt havea HW chin and look at him. Haye will destroy Wlad or Peter if he fought those jokers next.
:nut Haye can make some noise at HW, but get off the kool aid. If Wlad doesn't have a HW chin (it's average), what's Haye's? paper mache?
You can't compare the two until we have seen them both tested by people of a similar weight and level. At the moment, Haye's chin isn't really tested at CW, despite what people say - in the Thompson fight he was NOT KOed, his corner threw the towel in because he had paced himself terribly and his exhaustion was making it impossible to defend himself properly. Haye was far too eager for the KO early in his career - he left himself very open at times and was liable to punch himself out like he did against Thompson - he was NOT KOed! His corner threw the towel in (he wasn't even being punched at the time!) because he had paced himself terribly and his exhaustion was making it impossible to defend himself properly - he had Carl all over the place and could have got the KO/TKO if he had picked his punches a bit better. People often understimate Thompson too, he was a dedicated professional and always came to fight in top condition. In retrospect it was poor matchmaking really to put Haye in with him in his 11th fight! The Lolenga Mock fight is a perfect example of him being far too wild and leaving himself open, the punch that caught Haye was the kind that you would land only a handful of times in a career, he may be a light puncher but all the angles and momentum were in Mock's favour and he put everything into it at that split second and Haye nearly paid the price for it (see Sven Ottke v Anthony Mundine for another example of how a feather fisted fighter punching in the right place at the right time can be considerably more devestating than what they are normally capable of). If I remember correctly Haye rallied impressively and landed an equally impressive punch which ended the fight. Haye is untested at heavyweight, where it is very important to note that he will not significantly dehydrated by losing ~28lbs for every fight.
Reads like a good summary of the Wlad-Ross fight ! All fair points. That's why I said he can make some noise at HW. But crowning Haye a champ at HW is a bit too early :deal
True! Though Carl Thompson was actually a very good boxer, his record totally undersells what he was capable of, Puritty was only really a journeyman with a bit of a punch. The main difference between the two is that Haye seems to have learnt quicker from his defeat than Wlad did. I agree, it's too early to call - once I have seen a couple of fights against proper heavyweights I think it will be much easier to guess how far he will go. If it does turn out that he has a weak chin then, in a similar way to Wlad, it may be a matter of how much he is willing to comprimise his exciting style to something more conservative as to whether he will succeed or not.
Haye uses weights now... Not stupid over heavy stuff, but free weights non the less.. Tyson only really used weights after Prison, to get the muscle back that he lost due to under nourishment inside.. Weights are great for strength.. Lewis used weights a lot during his career.. I have a great series of stuff from his fight with Biggs, most of what he did in his preps for Biggs was weight training..
Weight training is good, if you do that in period's-not all the time..otherwise you lost to much speed:deal
weights can be good or bad, you need to know what you are doing, most guys start doing bodybuilding routines and put on useless amount of mass which affects their stamina, from what i know and heard juan urango never lifted weights, he and his brother are naturally huge just like howd weights jeff lacy never lifted but by looking at him you would think he is a bodybuilder. and as for rjj since the winky-ssm fight he has come a long way, since working with shilstone he has incorporated strength training to his routine.
Oh **** ... you wrote something that made sense and wasn't an attack at me. I believe what you said and it sounds legit ...
You seem like you did some research ... and found out facts instead of assuming ****. I believe that **** about Urango because I know people built like that ... and never lifted a weight in their life. You seen some truth in what I was saying as well ... I pay close attention to everything when i'm watching a fight (except the crowd and the blow by blow)
