I understand and accept what he did in the Wlad fight, even if he did vamp up an injury and lie to his fans. He wouldn't have made anything on that fight.

But his behavior during the Vitali negoitiations was disgraceful. It even involve a bit of race baiting with his whole b.s. slave contract rant. When, as you may know, it was exactly the same contract he had signed with Wlad...he know exactly what he was getting himself into. He just used that ridiculous argument to cover his own arse when he pulled out and fought the mediocre caveman instead. You see, to people who can think, he's not that smart.

He is all about money now. He isn't taking any risks so far fighting guys like Barrett, Valuev, and Ruiz. And, now, Valuev possible again.

I said casual american fans not americans. I am not going to resort to the "people in my country are better than people in your country" bull****. Haye would be known worldwide if he fights and BEATS a Klit.

You should think before you write too. There are ~910,000,000 people in the Americas, only 200 million out...

You don't appear to be aware of the fact that when people say 'Americans' it almost always exclusively refers to those from the US. Like it or not, that is what the word has come to mean. Hardly anyone is going to call a Brazilian an American, they call them a Brazilian, or perhaps a South American. The cultural divide of the north/south in the Americas is so huge that there is barely ever any reason to refer to the people of the entire continent in one go, that is why the word is now used for US citizens.

RYANCALVIN who's that in your avy?

Haye's one smart dude the guys done a hell of a lot in 25 fights, especially considering he's incured a loss in there too.

Don't be so condescending. How can you claim that what Haye did is not smart? Wlad/Vitali want the Haye fight more than ever, regarldess of Haye's earlier antics. They are even talking about tossing a coin to see who would gets the chance to fight him.

Haye now has leverage, he has the only belt that the Klits don't, and he knows that is what they are really after. They have said many many times that they wish to unify. Haye has forced himself into the position that he is the only man in their way to achieve one of their lifelong goals.

To say that he has not engineered the perfect situation for himself financially speaking is just madness. It is stupid to claim that it is not smart. Rather than risk fighting Wlad for nothing, and only then if he was fortunate enough to win (which I don't necessarily think he would) then he would have some negotiating leverage. Instead, he has proven that he is a capable heavyweight, he has got a belt that Klits are desperate for, and the fights are still going to happen. Not smart? Bull****.

    How about some evidence:
    http://www.google.com/trends?q=david+haye,+wladimir+klitschko&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0

David Haye's victory over Valuev, no matter how boring, has created more search traffic and news results than anything Wlad has done the entire 6 years of data. Interestingly, Haye's victory also trumps anything by all search traffic for the Klits combined. To say that Haye hasn't generate interest is utter bull****. He may annoy you, he may annoy a lot of people, but he is one of, if not the, best self publicist in the sport today.

Not fighting Wlad was smart because he wouldn't have been paid for it. Not fighting Vitali was stupid. He could have possibly established himself as the premier heavy in the division by beating Vitali and then beating Wlad. Instead, he's stuck in the WBA circle jerk fighting Valuev, Ruiz, Valuev and then the winner of Chageve vs. Meehan. If you think that's smart, well, I've got a bridge to sell you.

He had a change at greatness that he didn't rightly deserve and he squandered it to pick up a useless belt in the most corrupt organising body in the sport...that's really sa:Dying something.

Where are the numbers then, oh master of finance? Where is the international exposure? One thing I know is that money knows no nationality. And if HBO or Showtime thought Haye was a money maker, they'd show his fights. They don't. There is a reason for this. Haye is big in small pockets of Europe, that's it. And before you start with the pax americana claims, just remember that Lennox Lewis came to America to build his fortune. He was making at least five times as much as Haye is now because he built his name in the States and had his major defenses there. Fact is, HBO and American Pay per view is where the dollars, euros and pounds are.

haye could **** in a box and his fans would be like "man hes BRILLIANT!, modern day Ali!"

but in truth the man got his title shot by talking and the champ was a paper champ. And as i believe the Ruiz win was "good" it was still over a 38 yr old Ruiz who abandoned his one tactic which was his bread and butter for that fight (holding).

Actually, you're wrong. There are 382 million in South American and around 300 million in America. I just looked it up. You see, I knew I was closer.

Haye's bargaining position now must surely be a whole lot better than it was a year ago. To improve that position he has won and defended a recognised belt against 2 people he could reasonably expect to beat. Relatively low risk... relatively high reward. Give the man a round of applause.

    force the klits?

Both brothers have been calling him out since he walked away.

If Haye wants to fight a brother, HE CAN. Unification trumps ANY mand fight. So if he wants it, its there for the taking

Well, you looked it up wrong. North America inludes Canada and Mexico and many islands.

    [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America[/ame]

    Population ~528 million.

Add on the 382 million for South America, and suprise suprise, I was correct.

It takes an idiot not to understand that Haye has immensley increased his earning potential over his next few fights by taking the route that he has taken.
