Mate stop being a ***** and get a grip!
The guy is hypeing up this fight and brining interest to the division, hence the 60,000 fans who tunred up to see him get kod by wlad(all be it he ahd to pull out).
Valuev cant talk english and so the only way for haye to get the fight well known and mainstream is by talking up his chances, pulling stunts etc!
Over in the UK it seems to be working, most non boxing fans are talking about it!
Int he cruiserweights he acted with dignity because he didnt need to hype up his fights, he was on BBC/SKY for most of them and not on PPV so he didnt really need to sell the fights.
I hope he wins big on saturday to shut up all the haters and naysayers!

Let us leave chat about the cruiserweight division alone as we will just go round in circles. He beat the best champions and could have stayed there for the rest of his career.

Humour is matter of taste. I find some of his antics funny, you don't.

I imagine your argument all comes down to showing class, respect and being a good role model.

As posted in other threads, Haye was left with the simple decision, either be respectful, wait in line and win fights, or make some noise, call out champions and get there faster.

He is a man in a rush who wants the big fights now. Fortunately he has a fan friendly style to go with it and realises that, tethered with some pre-fight hype, he is an attractive asset for promoters.

Yes it isn't alway pretty (the t-shirt idea wasn't the best), but it has got him to where he wants to be.

And you have to remember this is the pantomime fight business, it isn't really personal. Someone has to play the bad guy, and David has embraced the role.

I can see where you are coming from.

I don't really agree, but I will respect your opinion.

Respect your viewpoint too. It isn't the ideal way to go about your business, but let's see how it pans out.

fighters today annoy me more and more. the only one who could ever trash talk is Mohammed Ali, he invented it and did it with style, everything after that is just a pale and disgraceful copy of it.
Haye should shut up and knock Valuev out. that's what I wanna see, I don't wanna see him talking, he's making a fool of himself.

Like it or lump it he has got every non-boxing fan I know talking about this fight by his antics. It can only be a good thing IMO.

Haye does like to rush into big fights because I don't think he can survive waiting in line b/c he would get KOed before he even reaches the top. I think Haye is way too overhyped and hasn't done anything in the heavyweight division. He beat an old crappy Barrett.......so what??? what makes everyone think that he'll beat everyone and be the heavyweight champion to hold all the belts?

He's going to be trying to knock him out in few days. Does anyone really give a toss if he winds him up a bit first? I honestly can't see Valuev saying "the humiliating knock out was devestating, yes, but it was him calling me smelly that really hurt". lol. Get real.

How is he 'clearly rattled'? He talks like this before every fight.

    Not really.

I just hope he wins so maybe it'll finally shut him up and he'll start acting in the fashion that a real heavyweight world champion should.

How did Ali 'do it with style'. By calling Frazier a Gorilla and coming out with some major racial comments in the lead up to that fight? By attempting to turn the black race against Smokin' Joe by calling him an Uncle Tom? Get your tongue out of Ali's arsehole, he was an outstanding fighter but by & large a major ****.

Exactly, the people who are slating Haye for his trash talk are the same ones who bum Ali and Tyson. Just because Haye isn't American basically.

The difference between Naz and Haye is that it's blatant Naz believed the stuff he was saying about how good he was etc, and it's blatant Haye is just trying to hype the fight and put bums on seats.

Not to disrespect either man, i don't dislike either and i like Haye a bit. Just thought i'd point out the obvious differences.
