Haye - it's Wlad or retirement. I have no beef with Vitali

Interesting analysis but I disagree. You can't merely have speed to beat Wlad. Wlad doesn't over-reach with the jab, and he does his best not to open up and give you chances. That gives a counter-puncher like Haye little options. A nightmare scenario forcing him to either lead or lose.

I made a thread saying Haye couldn't lead therefore he couldn't beat Wlad. Vitali throws more punches, and with his age has slower reflexes than his brother. Haye's style is more conducive to counter-punch Vitali. Vitali has less power. And if anything at this stage speed is likely more of an advantage to help beat him. In the 1st round against Solis, Solis was beating him to the punch a lot of times and even countering effectively. Vitali is unpredictable with his punches as opposed to his brother (But he's brother is more cautious, thus the problem) which would cause Haye problems, but he's slower, and even easier to slip punches from. You don't have to lead to beat Vitali. You can beat him off the back-foot. People don't want to bring up the Solis fight because of the result but he did good up until the 1st round injury/knockout. Since Vitali possesses less power, Haye presumably could be more eager to lead with quick power-punches, then move, counter, rinse-repeat.

Yes, Vitali has a better chin. But Haye wasn't going to end up winning by just one punch, especially that punch being a counter-punch. Vitali's activity, chin, and unpredictability/unorthodoxy would give him the advantage, but Haye's style is more conducive for him. Vitali drops that left dangerously low, even the right at times when jabbing. Haye probably could land that right hand more often against Vitali than Wlad. Vitali also hasn't been hit in awhile, so it's possible Haye could hurt him if he lands frequently enough. And most especially if he lands with something Vitali hasn't seen.

That 3 fight deal didn't look right at the time. There were many things that could go wrong, and it's not easy to commit to two different fighters. If Wlad KO'd him, did it still mean Haye gets a rematch, or was it only if Wlad wins. If Haye got seriously hurt by Wlad, how would he fight Vitali soon after? Were there penalties if he broke the contract by not proceeding with all three fights?

To fight one Klitschko at a time was the smart thing to do. Now, the Klitschkos can refuse to give him another shot, and rightly so, after the disrespect he threw at them. Haye at this point should feel privileged to get any Klitschko, if they want to give him a shot. There are not many good opponents for Klitschko left, so I don't see what the problem is with giving him another shot down the line. Another easy payday right?

FYI... The rematch clause went both ways... if Haye had lost he could have exercised the clause... he refused to have it becuase he didnt want wlad to have it

the 2nd fight went both ways as far a rematch... either guy lost could have a rematch.... haye didnt want it... they took out the 3 options and this fight was rematch only... Haye still didnt want it..... IMO it was a bad move... he signed for a 3 fight deal anyways....... I think his confidence clouded his business sense IMO

OF COURSE he doesn't have a beef with Vitali! Just like he didn't have a beef with him when Vitali punched him in the shoulder or grabbed him by the throat after seeing the Mens Health pic :good :D

Haye just doesn't want any part of big bro

Well, British guys got so big hopes before their boys compete in big events. But somehow it just isnt it. English soccer team, Tim Henman and Andy Murray on Wimbledon and David" shame for England" Haye

.BTW David got great movement with Wlad i was impressed. But when he had made so big trash talk before, hyped this fights so great, his performance inside the ring really was embarrassing
