I am a Brit and will be going to the fight.

I just hope Haye knows what he is doing with all this talk, because right now he looks like he is from the Mayweather family and 50 cent is his publicist.

I´m not a Brit and I´m favoring (or predicting because Helenius is the one I´m rooting for in HW) Wlad to win this one, but I don´t see Haye as one of Mayweathers, who basically are just slandering Pacquiao with their "you´re using PED`s...your little midget" -kind of ill-willed ghetto-talk.

For one - Haye´s fighting and May apparently is not. And that´s a mountain-size of difference between Haye and May.

And another is the way in which the trash-talk is thrown. Haye´s Borat -type of BS is still humorous when Mayweather -family rant is simple idiotic rasist slanderment.

I have serious doubts about that. Haye is cornering himself with this constant boasting and would look like an absolute clown if he loses easily.

But he´s doing a great job of promoting this fight. Stacking tension and excitement big time. The fight will be the biggest boxing event this year and that´s mostly Haye´s doings.

I think Haye is rather funny, but will very much enjoy watching him get knocked out by Wlad.

    That passes for humour?

I used to know this girl who would laugh her ass off at advertisements. She would almost **** her pants over ads that she had seen before.

In the words of the immortal Kurt Cobain: "I wish I was like you. Easily amused"

That's some weak trash talk. You know the PPV buying general public will lap it up.

All I can think is that Haye either unbelievable confidence in himself or has plans to leave the country straight after the Wlad fight, because when/if Wlad KOs him he's going to look like the biggest twat in this country's long history.

Absolutely so - but one has to admire his courage. He´s putting everything on the line, bragging to the whole world how he´s going to KO Wlad. Not giving any lame lines like "may the better man win...we´ll see whose better in July etc".

Props for Mr. David Haye for hyping this unification fight and for dragging HW -scene back to megamedia -attention.

Personally I think that he crosses the line sometimes. Those T-shirts were beyond good taste, but all and all he´s done a terrific job promoting himself and this unification bout. Got to appreciate him for that.

Funny, now that Haye says it... I can't remember a single memorable quote from Haye neither.

He's putting nothing on the line. He's close to retirement. If he loses, he's retired. If he wins, he gets one more big payday against Vitali. Haye risks very little at this point. He has nothing to lose and can just win. If Haye loses he'll just say "Look guys, he was so much bigger than me, I'm just a cruiseweight, I tried all I can. Give me some props!!!"

Haye risked a lot by attempting to fight Wlad in 2008 -- when Haye didn't have the financial nest egg he now has. Of course that fight never happened. Now Haye's risk going into the fight is close to zero.

The only man taking a risk here is Wladimir because he hasn't contemplated retirement just yet. If Wlad loses he'll lose to a loudmouth ex-CW who has never faced a tough test at HW.

But of course he risks his face, the way in which he´ll be remembered as a fighter is very much all on the line in here. And Haye has created this on his own.

Of course he has done this bragging and thrash-talking in order to draw money to the bout but the side-order from this is that Haye has to win Wlad or at least put on a close and fierce fight in order to save his face.

Imagine the reaction in UK if Haye loses big time (first rounds KO-loss for example or like Harrison without fighting at all). He´ll be a pitiful character for the rest of his life.

I don't think Toney is better. If you talk about Toney a few years ago when no one knew he wasn't going to fight anyone and just trash talk then yes he is better because everyone expected him to back it up. Toney talks trash just for the hell of it, there's no backing up nor plans for it and that's well-known. No one knows yet if Haye is planning to take that road.
