I doubt he cares much how he'll be remembered. He wouldn't retire after 27 fights if he cared about his legacy.

Win or lose, nobody will talk about Haye in 25 years unless he continues fighting for another couple of years. He knows that and he is putting his health above concerns for lasting legacy and future fame.

Actually if he would retire after beating both of the Klitchko brothers, he would have pretty good legacy.

All that matters is that Haye is a 1000x times better at fight promotion then either Klit, who usually promote their fights by drinking a glass of prune juice an hour before press time and making diarrhea faces in the camera.

Yes but that's not at stake here, he's risking nothing. He can only win, not lose much.

Yes, but that´s a really big if. In fact a double if and the one after the first if is a colossal IF.

The main thing is, that we have a truly interesting HW title fight coming up.

True, I'm excited about the fight but then again, does it get more exciting if either man talks a lot of crap? To me it doesn't.

A fight is exciting IMO if it delivers drama and back and forth battle inside the ring. Something we'll have to wait and see for until fight night. For all we know this fight may well disappoint so let's not get carried away by juvenile attempts of hyping up the fight.

David Haye seems as loose as a goose in a bucket of juice
    while
Vlas appears as stiff as, a Frankenstein.

haye's a smart guy. he knows how simple-minded the general public is, so he makes jokes that resonate with them. it almost seems like he's dumbing down his humour for maximum effect. good on him, he knows what he's doing.

this is also how i see it. but different people respond to different things, and haye is catering for a particular crowd (a large one at that). like i say, he's good at what he does. the klitchkos just have a different type of personality, which is cool too.

Wow, both guys were thought to be boring non-personalities during their actual reigns. You can find countless old SI and ESPN articles trashing Holyfield for his lack of charisma.

I understand he has to play this role of his in order to maximize the UK PPV revenues. In a way Wlad will also benefit from Haye's trash talk tirades because there'll be more money in the pot come fight night.

I can't imagine being offended by this goofball. Some people are actually pissed when he is clearly being silly and building hype to promote himself. Wlad does remind me of Borat, by the way.

I always thought Holyfield had a boring personality outside the ring. Not Frazier though.

Frazier's problem was he was kind of forced into the "straight guy" role to the more charismatic Ali.

Mayorga says Cotto is "half gay"(and then quits meekly in the last round) and everyone congratualtes him for being such a good thrash talker and how its great to have characters like him in the game.

Haye does it,and he people moan and complain.

    Get over it.
