I'd love to see Haye win, BUT I fear he'll get broken down and stopped mid-late by Mormeck. Haye struggles *massively* to make cruiserweight, and he doesn't have the best stamina as a result. I feel that it would've been in his best interests to forego this title shot and move straight to heavy. Kudos to him for wanting and taking the fight though. I really, really hope I'm proved wrong but I think David Haye's finest hour will - if he recovers well - come a division north of crusierweight.
Most are saying that David Haye has the range and the punch to get and blow Jean Marc away, I say that if Bell couldn't do it one fight ago, David is not the one to do it. It goes 12 and Mormeck makes a good case for him.
Fantastic, I'm delighted to be wrong about this one - Haye's one of my favourite boxers and, having followed his career since he turned pro, it's great to see him take true world titles. He answered a lot about his stamina and chin tonight - He wasn't out of steam by mid-rounds, he fought a solid, almost conservative fight and carried his power with him until the opportunity arose. Even the knockdown had positives for me - Haye slipped on an advert which allowed Mormeck to get through to him but he recovered well and let his head clear, keeping just out of Mormeck's range. His chin is vulnerable - not glass - but his recovery powers aren't bad at all.
