Haye's a goofball and got his payday using his mouth. His plan worked, but now he's yesterday's news.

It was 6 1/2 seconds, not 4, and not 11. But everything else you said is pretty accurate, and I give Haye a LOT of credit for surviving even if he did have to run scared a bunch. I mean, when Peter was rabbit punching Wlad and KDing him, Wlad held to survive those clubbing behind the neck shots, he did what he had to do to survive, and proceded to beat the **** out of Peter and get a UD by a long measure IMO.
Haye unfortunately could not hurt Wlad like he thought, and the idea that Wlad would somehow fall over himself in a drunken stupor w/o being first given two different water bottles, and having a plant in his corner was moronic at best. Wlad trains to go 36 minutes, all out, each and every time.

As for better than Byrd......maybe the Byrd2, but not better than 2001 Byrd. No one was more elusive at HW since him. Although I gave Vitali all but the 5th of their fight, and I only gave Byrd the 5th for his 2:30 defensive display and 30 seconds of offense, I still think that Byrd gives every modern HW not name K2 fits.
But like I said, I give credit to Haye for being so elusive, and even though he fought scared like Chambers and Chagaev, he did manage to survive, which is more than they could say.

thats a very good point! for me this fight is a draw also! It was even! im not saying that wladimir didnt win this fight!! he won it no doubt he landed more punches but he didnt win the rounds big ! Both guys kinda failed to outsmart the other guy or do some real damage to each other! they didnt take the needed risk to knock someone out!
HAye and wladimir know what they should do better next time so i think a ramtsch would be more exciting and more drama!

Dont get me wrong but if Wlad tried to grab me at that point and push his 250+ lb body on me, he would receive the baddest Headbutt in Boxing history!

Honestly the best way to deal with that is to start hitting him towards the body, as he is leaning on you one of those body shots will stray low and beleive me he will cut that **** out...

Wladdy don't like being hit any more than Haye does, and that was a good punch.

Doesn't counter act the fact that Haye also fell down for no reason during the fight.

Vitaly will take that punch and not even realize he has been hit.

The thing that annoys me about the haye fight with wladimir is that it had all the ingredients for a thrilling fight. If they fought again, i think it'll be a much better fight. It won't be boring again.

Yes, Chambere ran and didn't do much in the way of trying to get inside. But I thought Chagaev gave a very *valiant* effort against Wlad.

I didn't see much back peddling or running. I saw Chagaev trying to push inside, even though he was paying a heavy price for doing so, he kept pushing forward, trying to bore his way inside.

I was very impressed with the balls and fortitude he showed, even in light of the beating he took. Still bobbing and weaving, trying to get inside, all the way to the stoppage. :good

I'd rather see a Haye vs Wlad rematch than anything else at heavy.

Haye did do alright but I was a bit dissapointed in both of them that night. I really wanted Wlad to do a lot more, I think he could have very well gotten the knockout had he done a few things different.... oh well, he got the W and Im happy about that at least. And while a fan of Wlads, I am not a fan of hugging like he did after those shots landed. To the point where Haye goes down.

But also, just to clarify what else happened in the 12th.

Wlad was hit with two power punches, flush, from a big puncher, and less then 30 seconds later has Davids back against the ropes while firing his own punches back.

Yes, he did. I thought Wlad did manage to shake it off pretty well after he had time to recover, and then seemed to go on the offense fairly aggressively. :good

Thats exactly what I tell my kid to do, and every time though the shot is low and hard as all hell the ref warns the other fighter for leaning on him...

my kid is only 5'3 and at 145 he is always the shorter fighter so when they do that **** we bring our remedy and we use it.

Wlad should have an iron chin video like Lennox has.
