Pre Ruiz I picked AJ over anyone but post Ruiz AJ have been very disappointing. Prime Haye blast post Ruiz AJ out in the middle rounds.

Jesus, I think the AJ hate is getting a little ridiculous. I like Haye, but AJ's record shits all over David's. Without getting into Haye's loss to a LHW and getting dropped by a SM, let's just compare top ten wins:

    JOSHUA
    Wlad Klitschko
    Alexander Povetkin
    Joseph Parker
    Andy Ruiz
    Dillion Whyte
    Charles Martin
    Kubrat Pulev
    Otto Wallin
    Carlos Takam
    Dominic Breazele/Robert Helenius

    HAYE
    Nikolai Valuev
    Johnny Ruiz
    Derrick Chisora
    Monte Barret
    Jean Marc Mormeck
    Enzo Maccarinelli
    Giocobbi Fragomeni
    Audley Harrison
    Arthur Williams
    Alexander Gurov/Vincenzo Rossito/Glen Kelly

C'mon. It's fun to kick a guy you don't like when he's down, but Haye has done NOTHING to indicate that he would be a long night for AJ.

Haye was just as much a hype-job as AJ, though he did more with his own mouth and antics.
He didn't fight Chisora scared because Chisora is about his size without the fat and wasn't known as a big puncher.
He fought Wlad scared because Wlad was much bigger and a huge puncher.
He probably fights AJ more like he did Wlad.
It might actually look like the Parker fight with Haye not doing much then losing on points.
Haye can KO him absolutely if he lands properly, but he was reluctant to engage Wlad and only clipped him a few times.

    True.

The Wlad fight was a timid performance from Haye. The Valuev fight arguably more so; Haye was fortunate to scrape a decision given it was Germany. Destroyed Audley but so did Price and Wilder. Ducked Fury, ducked Cunningham for undisputed at cruiser and got stopped in 5 by 40+ former LHW Carl Thompson.

Haye has always rated Joshua very highly so he wouldn't go in with the mentality of bulldozing him, which wasn't really Haye's style anyway.

I think they both lose to a prime Povetkin and that's about their level.

Vs the AJ of right now? i'd strongly favour that version of Haye.

Both of them on their respective best nights? close fight, slight edge to Haye.
