Wasn't Haye the reason Sky dropped PPV's? Not sure where I read that but I thought it was down to the backlash from Harrison/Wlad fights?
The reason i can't take a David Haye comeback seriously is because David Haye is seriously only in it to line the pockets of David Haye. So expect more of the same garbage he's served up previously and expect it on ppv for any idiots out there still willing to be tricked again.
So the same as 99.99% of boxers? Haye returning to Sky could further explain Groves jump to Matchroom.
I remember when Groves signed there was a lot of rumours it was a team Hayemaker deal not just groves. Maybe some truth in that after all
On a side note, when David Haye anounced he was fighting Harrison I was literally laughing, then when I heard it was on PPV I honestly thought it was a wind up, I mean what kind of spastic would pay £15 for that. Then when I saw that people were actually willing to buy the PPV I shook my head is disbelief, no wonder boxing is in the state it is in and many of the so called fans don't deserve any better.
The reason why Sky dropped PPV was because of ordering issues with the Haye/Wlad fight and a bit of a PR disaster. Sky are more bothered with protecting their brand than making a cheeky couple of million quid it seems.
Does anyone else think that Haye got caught up with his celebrity status that he actually forgot he was a fighter when he faught Wlad? It just didnt seem like the same Haye but when he faught Chisora he was like a different animal (Yes i know there is a big gulf in class between Chisora and Wlad) I just feel that if he got the rematch with Wlad and actually went for it he could get to Wlad and take him out.
If Haye is coming back to actually be an active fighter again, then great. If he is coming back thinking he's got the status of DLH/Mayweather and thus only needs to take part in "events" ...then **** him.
If Haye wants to come back to make a genuine go of making it back to the top and taking his career seriously then fair enough and good luck to him, he's a fantastic fighter that can't be denied. However, if just he's coming back to try and squeeze a few pay days out of Sky by getting back on PPV and short cut his way to a title fight ahead of other fighters then he can ****ing do one. I've still not forgiven him for the Audley and Wladimir debacles. For ages it's been "Vitali or nothing, I won't put my body through another training camp unless it's for that fight." I also read something where he said he doesn't really care about winning a title, it's just the opportunity to knock out Vitali that he wants. Now all of a sudden when Vitali makes it clear that he's not going to fight David suddenly does a complete 180? It just stinks to me, makes me firmly believe he's only coming back for some cash, not for his honour or legacy. He was bluffing the whole time with this retirement bollox, it was all to try and goad Vitali who hasn't took the bait.
Ive talked about this for ages.Think the revenge angle, plus Solis good record, would sell it.Would convince me,at least, that Haye meant business.Doubt it though, also Pulev and the good Americans mentioned, also can't see Povetkin. If it comes off, probably be Adamek, the worst match of the lot.Not entirely sure hell come back at all, with no Vitali as the reward.
